Onani Master Kurosawa

I decided to check this out after seeing this thread resurface, and having previously seen pics in a user's avatar/sig and liking the designs. I was expecting some mindless gross-out humor to keep me occupied while bored but was outright blown away by the quality of the story. Couldn't even stop reading it and finished it in a single night. I think one of the reasons it especially struck home with me is the fact that I was a self-imposed outcast exactly like Kurosawa in my school days (without the "daily routine" of course). Not sure if I've ever seen a work I could relate to so much, which is something I never would have expected just from reading its title and brief description. I don't read a lot of manga but this is definitely at the very top of my list.

I get a lot of people asking me where they were from so I'm happy to keep using them if it promotes a great coming of age story.

If I can get around to rereading it I hope to find some more good scenes to make into signatures/avatars.

I had started this at the beginning of the year (up to chapter 12 was scanlated then I think). Finally decided to finish it last week.

Must say that this has been one of the best things I've read in a long time, and a very satisfying ending that left me with a good feeling in my heart.

Ok that was pretty good i gotta say, After what has to be one of the most misleading preludes, It slowly manifests into this manga about forgiveness, redemption and in what has to be, one of the best coming-of-age stories I've read thus far.

Also death note(fap note)and code geass references were golden.

I was genuinely impressed by this manga. While I was expecting it to be a black comedy parody of Death Note through and through, it turned into a very poignant story about a range of challenges people face as an inherent part of growing up.

Spoiler for Turning point:

The characters were believable and sympathetic, and the plot was well-paced. I've become so desensitized to disappointment at a protagonist's false starts towards redemption that I was resigned to Kurosawa not admitting to his actions when he stood up before the class. I was so incredibly impressed that he took that step right then and owned up to the consequences. His maturation was moving beyond words.

The artist of this series has won some sort of a honorable mention award in the Jump Treasure newcomer’s manga award.

I hope this gives the manga more attention. I want an anime adaption so more people can experience this story. It must be faithful though.

The only way this is ever going to be made into an anime is through an OVA, and a handful of episodes aren't enough to do the story justice IMO.

Kudos to the artist for winning the award though. Hopefully he'll start up a new series in JUMP soon, there's not much I'm reading from that aside from OP and Bakuman.

Just finished reading Onani Master Kurosawa: After The Juvinile and i thought it was a great end to the series im really happy with the Kurosawa X Sugawa finish the only problem is now i want more Kurosawa X Sugawa. this has been one of the best mangas i have ever read.

That manga that he submitted to JUMP seems to have cute art o.o; Is he going to walk to the path of god ? Well....the art in the later chapter does seems cute compared with the earlier chapter....Not to mention that my reasons for reading the manga at the first place was because I saw the picture of Sugawa and Kurosawa together.....but still, the picture in Senka ni Saku really looks great.....

I thought that at first, I didn't like the art but still like the story of OMK. But I guess, with his art getting better now, it makes me curious on what he's gonna draw next.
