I would think establishing a link to a second person's Linker Core and then severing the first would be easier than creating a brand new Linker Core itself.
There you go

No need to waste two perfectly good Catgirls

Take a leaf out of cardcaptor's book.

Find a completely new and seemingly random girl and have Zafira train her, and Vita/Signum to 'test' her when she's ready

Unless said guy proves himself worthy of course. Although finding a guy of such caliber is gonna be a Herculean task by itself

If it's Hayate's wish though, I don't think the Wolkenritter can protest too much, lest the guy really turns out to be a dirtbag, in which case they can let rip all they want, or Hayate gives them a taste of the Harisen Mk III

Glad to see we found a topic to run with.

Ah the missing Chrono. Ever the search for someone that can't be found. Be interesting if he was doing something worthy of its own mini-series. Though he better be doing something big that will warrant coming in to save the day. Have no problem waiting for his big episode until it finally arrives.

The thinking about familiars etc is something interesting. Obviously the old admiral won't be around forever if he still is and losing the Lieze twins would be tragic. For some reason if they could switch Masters and Chrono took up the job...Well it'd be understandible why he's been so busy lately.

It'd be tough for any guy trying to get together with Hayate. Shear power herself, and the knights ready to slice apart the unworthy. But yeah if she found the right person they wouldn't interfere since what she wants is most important.

Though now without someone to leech magic power out of, I can only assume that they eventually develop self-sustaining Linker Cores.
Actually, based on Nanoha Sound Stage 02, the familiar probably returns to its original form(for Alia and Lotte, that would probably be cats).

Bah ~ she's nothing like Vita-chan.
Vita isn't in a bad mood most of the time ~ well not a good mood either.

As for the book, I think he might have been referring to the 3rd as being the one she materialises when she's with Rin in the paper-work-station ~ which is just a slight confusion I believe.

Mmm.. so in other words familiars were originally animal or pets of their owner who were eventually imbued with magical powers and human understanding as well as a human lifespan. Interesting that they can't prolong their own life span considering they have such power.

I'm not sure about all familiars, but Arf was originally a wolf and I forgot what animal Lilith was, but she was one at the beginning. When Lilith's contract was over, she was offered the choice to return to her animal form but refused, opting to disappear instead.

At least, if I heard correctly.

This animal origin is interesting ~ it brings forth the question:
In season 1 episode 1 why did Yuuno turn into a ferret after he was injured ?
Could it be he's actually a familiar ~ a special one at that.

It's already been confirmed that he's not a familiar…

As for why, they mention often that smaller forms have less magical upkeep.

The funny thing about the connection between Master and Familiar, it remains active even if they're in different worlds, like Fate and Arf.

And familiars can probably live as long as they have a master to give them magic, and hopefully the "change master" theory works too, because it makes sense and seems possible to perform.

Someone along the lines of Negi Springfield may be able to keep up with Hayate, me thinks...

Last time I've checked, the only thing he does that warrants any interest/attention, is picking up random girls blasting at each other and bring them back to the ship... (There's fighting robot armies and berserking program, but who hasn't?)

Of course, if you want to extend the seach, the other thing would be dealing with attractive females that have "out-of-this-world" capability, some of them have high potential of chaos and destruction

Heh, if he thinks they 'drain his energy' before...

Who knows?

He could 'accidentally' find himself chained up in a building that was schedule for demolition...

Or someone 'forgotten' to turn off the tap and an electrical wire just 'happens' to be cut out when he enters the room...

Or maybe someone 'unintentionally' mis-programmed the Arc-en-Ciel firing coordinates...

What?! No no ~

Their personality won't fit, and I highly doubt he's Hayate's type

Now that you mention it...we don't know what kind of guy is Hayate's type.

Someone who can endure the hardships of being a cosplay model?

An opposite? (opposites attract)
Someone with similar interest? (tends to get along)
The onii-chan type? (don't ask)
The GAR type? (who knows)
The timid type? (underling?)
The strong but silent type? (kinda vague)
The joking type? (Vice?)
The dominant type? (hard to imagine)
The hero type? (kinda vague too)
The cossanova? (Acous?)

After seeing Chaos's convenient methods by witch this guy could be dispatched....he's going to require some serious firepower or durability to survive her knights. But yeah dealing with cosplay will be a must

Japanese fans refer to it as Super Chrono Time
