I think that's generally assumed, especially with Netflix streaming it next season in the US, but not official. It would be one last kick in the nuts for this star-crossed adaptation to deliver to those of us that love this series to bits.

Sub 10 is out, poor Haruo, he really in the slump.
Edit:
About the number of episodes this will have, if is only 12 eps(first four volumes), then it will end in a big cliffhanger, and that may boost sales of the manga, and with it ending in next chapter (63) the boost will be welcome, as for the anime, if it really ends in ep12 , I see very slim chances for second season.

The only hope is that this is a split cour. Otherwise, we're doomed to one last kick in the nuts from this cursed adaptation.

Poor Hidaka can’t get Haruo’s heart to stray, even when it comes to consoles.

Hidaka has gotten really good. I hope we'll get to see a match between her and Oono next week in order to see where she stands. I don't expect her to win, but she should be able to put up a decent fight. Oh, and she looks really good with long hair.

I've been thinking that even if they don't go to the same school, Haruo and Oono could still spend time together at the arcades, but he's been avoiding going there because he was too ashamed to face her.

Don't know why, but the episode feels different, can't say what or why , maybe direction or something but even if minimum I feel something is different.

Spoiler for for ep 11:

A shame we didn't see Oono and Hidaka play against each other. From the looks of it, Oono would have won easily though. Hidaka is very talented but Oono is genius level.

Not surprised Oono ran away from home. I hope things will improve for her. Let the girl breathe a bit.

I want to see Hidaka and Ono play each other to see who's the better gamer girl, but I got Jebaited as they play Virtua Cop. But seriously, I think Moemi Gouda should loosen up as Akira might become a delinquent with her harsh tutoring.

12 is out subbed.
What a moment for this series, final episode and final chapter released almost at the same time.

Series continues as a three episode OVA in March 2019. No idea if that will be it or not though.

This trolling hard, very hard.
If those ovas keep the same peace as first season (1 episode = 2 chapters) the ovas will cover all vol05, and that end at an even bigger cliffhanger than episode 12.
They changed the game in the hotel ... was hopping to see that Chinese fighting game bootleg in the nes.
Akira was very talkative this episode , and very cute too.

You don't have to buy anything if you have a Netflix subscription...

Well, I mean... We know these OVAs will show on Netflix USA eventually - the only question is whether it will be delayed, like the regular series was, or at the same time as Japan.

Irrespective of that, the last episode was really great - both Oono and Hidaka got a proper treatment in the end. All in all a fantastic adaptation, and I'm glad they didn't try to invent an ending out of nothing. Even if the three OVA eps are all we get, they can at least give a hint of the manga's intended conclusion.

This might be the first time I don't know which heroine to root for. Both Oono and Hidaka are lovely, for completely different reasons. They're pretty much complete opposites, with Haruo and video games as their only common points.

Was a bit disappointed in the ending. I guess Hidaka really is as desperate as she says. There's no way forcing Haruo to go out with her will make either of them happy. On a different note, it sucks we weren't told about Oono's new home situation, assuming it changed at all. The fact Haruo hasn't seen her at the arcades isn't a good sign.

Looking forward to the next three episodes and hoping another season will be made. This is a really great series.

From my perspective this was a Hail Mary pass from Hidaka. She’s got nothing to lose, since she’s not even in the game. So why not take a shot? The downside is that she knows she’s complicating Haruo’s life a lot by doing so, and you can see she feels bad about that.

That's the wrong way to take a shot though. I suppose she could get some form of closure if she happened to lose, but what if she wins? That would actually be the worst outcome for her. Forcing Haruo to go out with her when she knows he's in love with Oono will make her miserable.
