This was probably the worst episode of Overlord imo. We had a cool twist with Enri unexpectedly summoning an elite goblin army yet we don't actually see the war between the human army and said goblins. Just a description of the different goblin types/classes mixed with one of the worst CGI ever made for the few "action" scenes during the conflict. Truly appaling visuals! At least show the new goblins going all out against the kingdom like the deathknight did in season 1... actual action footage and not just some random ugly, boring and uninspired CGI clips and pretending there is a war happening. Really awful episode. The only thing left to praise regarding Madhouse is that they actually did a season 3 to Overlord and the cool OP/ED, because everything else is a joke.

The look on the other Goblin's face actually hints towards the arm-wrestling having been rigged in her favor. Just think about it. If she had actually won that against the goblin she would have half crushed the other guy during their 'pushing game'

I noticed that quite a few people all over the internet had this strange misconception that somehow Lupusregina "helped Enri out", which was supposedly the "real reason" why the horn summoned the whole army...
Of course they're completely wrong, however how the hell did they all even get to that conclusion in the first place?

The numerous lords you see in the last two seasons of anime all have their own private armies, and they help their sovereign in wars only when they want to. We had an entire episode about that just last week. Enri is effectively Aniz's first Noble. She just doesn't know it yet.

That was quite epic when Enri summoned that army. A 5000 strong army, with different regiments and completely loyal to her. Not only that, she has a superior military strategist to help with that as well. Heck, the 13 red caps alone can probably take on a 50,000 strong army.
She went from 20ish low-level goblins and some ogres army to an elite army of 5000. She used those 20 goblins to build a wooden defensive wall, i.e. a wooden fortress. Now, with a 5000 strong workforce, I expect her to build a stone wall city. As for food, I expect her to use that wonderful army to help farm as well. Soon, I don't expect Carne will be called a village anymore. Maybe Carne City or Carne Citadel. I'd expect statues of Ainz and then statues of Enri to be built. They still have the huge forest close by, which they can find wild game. Or they can start a ranch with all the land and raise cattle.

Aside from the standard budget CG, iam liking it, iam not expecting things went full romance of goblin kingdom with goblin zhuge liang and different squad of goblin, and poor prince he retreated so far only to get greet by "lu bu" As for the cg, they probably going to save it for the main war later on, that war is going to need a lot of cg effect. On the other hand i hope ainz will have second opinion about carne village as future prospect, kind of sad when he only prioritize some people from the village where in fact the whole village is actually loyal to him |

Just watched the latest episode.
This is rather different from what is depicted in the novel, especially with the inclusion of Ainz and Mare basically acting as narrators, which isn't necessary, imo. It is also important to note the difference between Ainz and Satoru, as they do not always act in unison. What Satoru thinks is not always reflected by Ainz's actions. In this case, even if Satoru doesn't care about Carne village, Ainz cannot abandon the village since he already made the proclamation of protection in Season I. If it was Ainz who voiced a lack of concern, then Madhouse would be contradicting its own production. In fact, Lupusregina was reprimanded previously for acting on her 'sadistic' side and not doing her job of guarding the village before this battle. Keep in mind, while the people of Carne village adore Lupusregina as one of their own, and that she always maintain a very pleasant facade, deep down inside, she really wants to see the villagers suffer. Also, CGI looks like watching a Total War game, and the actual depiction of the rout left much to be desired. I can only guess they are saving the dough for the big one that is the next episode. We will see... Quote:
Also, Enri is not seeking independence of any kind, and that is not a spoiler. - Tak
