In short, once again Loki is showing he is bizzaro Thor; having the same idea of, in theory, helping humans, but in a completely different way. I do think Loki actually believed in what he is saying; he does think of himself as worthy of being a benevolent ruler of Earth. But then, that's what all Tyrants think.

Loki thinks Earth needed a regime change. That we are better off once we are converted to a superior form of government. And that the invasion and the killing is worth it.

Maybe, maybe not. I'd say he is striking out at Thor and Odin, but wants to show them up at how good a king he can be. Possible chance of brainwashing.

But he would be a tyrant no doubts about it.

Pretty much. He wants Earth not because he desire to rule earthlings, but because he really want to show his family that "LOOK! I am King Material!"

F-ing awesome flick, was really impressed with this outing.

Most big block buster action flicks I find tend to fall prey to moments of the film that are really meh verging on boring and kinda outta place but didn't get that from The Avengers.
Really did love every moment of it, a real block buster flick if I ever saw one.
It lived up to the hype it got, a solid 1st film in what I hope more equally good films will follow(altho obviously part of me will have doubts there)

The clash of "titans" was great, amusing and dramtic with a little cheese sprinkled on top like you'd expect.
And as I've found the Hulk can be really entertaining which I also have to note that he gets one epic moment, I was left with a massive grin when he shows up and then Stark brings the party to them

I have high hopes for Batman but honestly thinking about it I really don't think it can top The Avenegers for me.

Woo! Finally saw Iron Man 2 and Thor, so I'm all set for Avengers when it comes out here. Finally.

(I enjoyed Thor a bit more than I expected; some of the parts were just too funny. "This drink, I like it. ANOTHER! *smash* )

I really hope that after The Avengers, this year will be the year of meaningful Blockbusters, considering that we still have Prometheus, TDKR, Amazing Spiderman, MIB 3 (a kinda redemption sequel) and other hopeful popcorn movies still to come.

Great great movie though the first half was a bit slow.

Thor and the Hulk makes a great (comedy) duo

That's crazy. By the time The Avengers starts you'd want to leave.

Yeah, RDJ mentioned filming "something" after the international premiere. He was told to get dressed up and film a scene after attending the screening. He wasn't told what was in it.

I don't see why. Sure it'd be long, but so what? It's not like people don't spend entire days watching TV or movies or anime or playing games at home.

Either way, not taking two days off of work to watch movies.

Well, the movie did what it was supposed to do superbly well and that is entertain. Although I won't say it was awesome as I found a handful of moments facepalm-worthy. Like the scene in Germany. While I do get the point Vallen was making, I just thought the atmosphere of the movie didn't warrant it. Plus the fact that I found Loki nothing more than a comic sidekick of a villain doesn't help either. Aside from that I immensely enjoyed the rest of the movie. For me, Iron Man and The Hulk stole the show.
