I have to say this is actually a pretty cool spinoff idea. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Mavis and her creation of Fairy Tail. While things are problematic in the current time of the series, the past was full of dangerous times. Get to see her create all those legendary spells and build things up.

Should be fun, well aside from all the death in the first chapter . Would agree that it's possible this Zeira girl doesn't really exist. That kind of loneliness can be tough. Plus with the potential Mavis has, its entirely possible she created her via magic since we've seen that as being possible. Be it not stating her age right after Mavis or having Mavis state what could be an ironic line of "it's like I don't exist." Just feels like being isolated for 7 years would force Mavis to create someone to talk and spend time with.

till now this spin-off feel more natural/interesting than the original

Naw, that would be too short :P Fun chapter, I also support the Zeira is dead idea, adding to it the panel with the half-eaten sandwich and half-empty chalice...Not to mention the judgement field, an item that can tell if Mavis is lying, even to herself.

One of the rules is you can't pick things that both players have in common, e.g. "You have eyes" or "You have a heart". Yuriy guessed "You're in your teens" despite being a teen himself, thus breaking the rule.

I'm actually astounded that Mashima's capable of writing good mind games. We've never gotten anything like this in the main series.

This Chapter was superb, I like the idea of putting the amount of time left till the creation of Fairy Tail, even thought it was too short I fully enjoyed it and now I'm looking forward to read how this game ends.

This is because the MC of this series is supposed to be very smart in contrast to our MC's in Fairy Tail who are rather the opposite. I can already tell I'm going to like Mavis's personality a lot, and yes I agree that it is still kind of hard to tell whether or not

Zeira is alive or not.

All I am sure of right now is that Mavis is very intelligent. She most likely guessed his age incorrectly on purpose during the trial in order to lull him into thinking that he would win. Also, everything on this island doesn't really say much about her, so I guess that she expects to win. I also wonder if she exhausted the information in the dry run, so that Yuriy, can't make comments about her appearance or anything that he can tell... after all... everything else about the guild... doesn't say anything about her... I have a morbid feeling right now about what might happen in the game...

This is definitely better than the actual right now... but this is only really possible because the history groundwork laid out in Fairy Tail already exists, which changes things. These two chapters wouldn't have been able to give us the same feeling of seeing characters in a different light, and being able to see them go to ruin blah, blah, blah... and we wouldn't have had nearly as good an idea of what was actually going on... so I think Mashima is using this to his advantage... I wonder if this will be his main manga after he finishes fairy tail?

I am also supporting the theory that Zeria is dead. Not showing her age and having her conveniently out of the way for other people is just too suspicious.

I wonder if there was no official guildmaster at the beginning of it... and they all had to do stuff without one for a while... first? I'm curious as to how she was put above everyone else that we've seen in the party voyaging on that island...

Yeah because he's Makarov's dad.Maybe she turned out to be the guildmaster because she is the smartest one or because she had the idea of crating it, thus she became the guildmaster.

I'm partially wondering if this is the story of how the first guildmaster eventually became decided because it is called Fairy Tail Zero.
