Plot Summary:

2150 A.D. The battle with the Festum, the silicon life-forms from distant outer space, had reached a new dimension. The North Polar Meir that was crushed during the First Azure Operation had dispersed its fragments all over the world. They all started activity on their own as independent Meirs. Most of the Meirs harbored hatred towards humanity and challenged a fight; however, a portion of the Festum chose coexistence with mankind.

There were some humans that embraced the same ideology. They were humans, but they were Festum as well. Their existence plunged the battle into chaos, and created even more hatred. The battle was no longer able to be simply labeled as that of human versus Festum.

Amongst the crossfire, the Ryugujima island alone disappeared from the forefront of battle and continued its silence. The island had gained a means to converse with the Meir since their encounter with Misao Kurusu two years ago. That had brought a new possibility to the island. The children of ALVISS had been searching for a way to understand the enemy as they prepared for battle.

And now, once again, further evolution was about to befall the island. A girl that understands the language of the Festum, and a girl protected by a Festum. When the two meet, the doors to a new universe opens…

This season had a very strong first episode. It feels like I was thrown into the heat of battle but at the same time I wasn't confused at all as I've come so far with the characters now. And that's exactly why the end of this episode saddens me even moreso. Staying tuned for the next episode. I assume it will switch back to the island's current situation before switching back to the Azazel-type battle.

Pretty much a smooth follow up fo the exodus starting in the last episodes of season 1. Animation and music-wise on par with the standard set, as in great. No new OP/ED yet but I recall reading they will debut a bit later so it's ok.

And that ending, man. I hope this doesn't turn into a heavy bloodbath but things don't look promising.

Good start for this season, this actually exceeded my expectations.

Music is good while we get decent action and tactics. I think the show will take a lot of risks with moves like that but it makes the story all more thrilling. Hoping it can keep up the momentum.

Wow, what a fantastic start to the new season. One of the best animes of the year returns, and it returns with a bang. Not much more can be said about it. It was just breathtaking.

Very good start to the 2nd season of Fafner Exodus. They did not dally and continued where it left off. The death count continues to increase inexorably. Even taking one of the side characters at the get go. Kanon's last vision that ended the 1st season is coming together...

Most likely Akira, the only thing holding Akira back before from going "kill everything" mode was Hiroto and he croak.

The news will hit Seri really hard when it reach the Tatsumiyajima, especially if she ended up knowing its Human Army who did it.

Maya pulled the trigger, and part of Canon's vision at Episode 13 has been fulfilled.

Hiroto's remains were contained in a single box so he won't come back. Sad.

At least they gave us some hope near the end......

Pretty much yes, from the whole plot, background to character developments, or there'll be a ton of questions rise up without those.
It's all worth it though.
