When the childhood friend losing is so commonplace the title has to make it clear they'll actually win this time around .

So Haru's first love is a cool, serene, intellectual beauty who looks good in a bikini and is voiced by Ayaneru? I can't say he has bad taste, and it seems like he fell in love with her through her writing rather than just her good looks, which seems to have endeared him a lot to her .

Of course the true Main Heroine is the titular childhood friend, Kuroha, a sassy, beautiful, and teasing girl who is pretty upfront about her feelings for Haru and genuinely cares about him. Plus, she has thighs to die for and is voiced by Inori Minase. What's not to love ?

Wait, isn't the childhood friend supposed to win? She's already confessed and lost! And she's practically throwing herself at him! I guess the crux of the story is Kuroha forcing Haru into a fake relationship so that she can live out her fantasy of them dating and make him genuinely fall in love with her and get payback against Kachi who she hates for stealing Haru's attention away from her .

Is it out of the realm of possibility that Kachi told Meiko about her dating Abe so she'd say it out loud and embolden Haru after she just heard Kuroha talk in public about the fact that she'd confessed to him? Basically daring Haru to fight for her? I guess the real test will be how she reacts to seeing more of Haru and Kureha .

Nobunaga following his best bud Matsuoka to another anime, although while Nobunaga is usually the good-looking popular guy, Tetsuhiko is treated like utter trash by his female classmates .

So Abe and Haru aren't actually that different, since Haru was also a famous child actor and presumably got into it because of his actress mother (the woman in the picture?). Is that what connects him to the girl from the commercial ?

The Opening is a pretty fun and upbeat theme, fitting for a romcom, and featuring everyone chasing after Haru and looking snazzy in tuxedo's .

I kind of hope Kuro wins in the end, but that said she kind of strikes me as a little questionable at times with that seductive, sly look in her eyes. She feels like a real schemer.

Scheming to get into her childhood friends' pants, from all appearances .

I assume the title is ironic and the childhood friend will lose again. And again and again.

In both love and war, it doesn't really matter how many times you lose, just whether you win at the end.

Kuro is most definitely going to lose in the end. The obvious best girl never wins. The story will pull some crap like "Kachi is actually his childhood friend too, he just forgot" so the title isn't a lie. What kind of romcom would reveal the winner in the title anyway?

Yea I just watched this because Inori Minase is in it.

Fortunately, I don't have to worry about her character being rejected, because she came pre-rejected.

Watch a childhood friend lose even when she's posited as the Main Heroine...to another childhood friend .

Childhood friend is really a cursed position in romcoms.

oh..well.
Kuroha's heart is probably bleeding, but she keeps up her smile. Nevertheless, she is popular with guys, so it is not hard for her to find a mate. Wonder why she is so fixed on Sueharu.

On the other hand, Sueharu has his eyes fixed on Shirokusa. When he learns that Shirokusa has a boyfriend, he is devestated. He agrees Kuroha's plot for take revenge, for whatever it is. He dislike Kaichi's so called boyfriend, who is a popular actor at the moment. The boyfriend reveals that before Sueharu became a normie, he was a celebrity. This plot reminds me about Amagai Brilliant Park. The protagonist of that work was also a child actor.

Shirokusa achieves her celebrity status for her novel. She is somehow harsh to her classmates, except Sueharu. Maybe they deserve it, by trying to kiss up to her? Not much can be said about her. Other then she was mentioned in one of novel's promotion story. In Saekano movie premier, a special short story was distributed. In the story, Eriri said, "Kuroha, are you going to win? Are you not going to lose to that Joshikousei novelist(Utaha)?"

Jusding by the first episode, both Kuroha and Suharu are going to suffer. T_T

It's not though. Among non mainstream heroines they take top spot

People always say that when someone brings it up, but really from what I've seen it's quite true. It depends on how strict you are with the definition of the childhood friend archetype I think. I'd say you could divide them into three sub-archetypes: the pure childhood friend, the childhood rival, and the long-lost childhood friend. Childhood rivals and childhood friends who hadn't seen the MC in many years do have a fair chance of winning, and if it's not a romcom but an action series or something with romance as merely a subplot, the pure childhood friend does have a fair chance. But when it's a romance or romantic comedy and the childhood friend has been there at the MC's side since kindergarten, always friends and always close, I honestly very rarely see them win out against other romantic interests.

I don't think he explicitly agreed to fake date for their "revenge." Kuroha thought he did, which is why she tried to kiss him, but that's part of why he got freaked out.

There's always galge/eroge if you want winning osananajimi but they're usually the most boring route. In general childhood friends are like the Washington Generals; they do actually win occasionally but its usually a fluke and no one is really there to see them anyway.

Not sure how I feel about Osamake so far though... I remember the premise seemed kind of interesting when I saw the manga a while back but the first episode was pretty meh. I'll probably give it a couple more episodes at least but I'm not really optimistic.
