So instead of one party ruled by amoral psychos you'd rather have two parties ruled by amoral psychos? Not seeing the appeal here to be honest.

In other news only five Republicans voted in support of the Impeachment trial in the latest effort to kill it. Those heads are still pretty firmly rooted in the sand. Unless someone has a last minute change of heart it looks like this is all just a huge waste of time as hands are slapped over their ears and they're shouting, "La la la! I'm can't hear you, I'm not listening!"

Apparently I'm spending too much time on other places... because the last statement about the Democratic Party as it is in the US is apparently absolutely correct compared to European countries. In fact, I'm hearing that whereas in the US politicians like Bernie sanders and AOC are considered radical left... they'd be just barely left of center elsewhere.

I suppose the idea is that while the democrats alone are merely considering such ideas as universal healthcare, free college, and other such ideas... in other countries (again, probably the European ones... my guess is the Scandinavian countires) these are already in place and have been for a while. hence why the Democratic Party in the US is seen as conservative elsewhere.

For all that’s it worth, from a perspective of my German friends, the Democratic Party is center right and the GOP is far right.

On another note, It seems qanon is not going away. It’s fusing with Sovereign citizen, white accelerationism and rapture ready evangelicals.

This is the new GOP voting bloc. And I don’t thin a return pre Trump status quo will be enough to quell the brewing violence

But seriously, I freaking wish Democrats were the radical leftist/socialists/liberals that Republicans portray them as. It's nice, watching right wing commentators fearmonger about the far left policies that will be enacted by the radical communist/socialist, Joe Biden. I see this and I'm like "Damn, dont threaten me with a good time".
Funny thing, it used to be. Back during the civil war, the republicans were the liberals and the democrats were the party of the south. In the early 20th century, conservative did a coup on the Republican Party and were successful thus driving the liberals to the Democratic Party. Some might view themselves as successors of Lincoln but they are just usurpers of his legacy.

It's in place in most european countries, just in different forms.

In case of Canada, universal healthcare has been a reality for generations and if post-highschool schooling isn't free, compared to what it cost in the US one could almost say than it is.

Voting against it here means little since they likely knew they were going to lose the vote. I think that they were just hoping that they could avoid it. McConnell even said he likely committed an impeachable offense yet voted in favor of it being unconstitutional. Might be a long shot that they at least take it seriously now instead of making up their minds before it even started like last time.

I find pieces like this particularly entertaining given Biden's campaign launched while repeating the 'fine people' hoax.

Saw this on Facebook. Obviously from a conservative. Thoughts?

I tolerated 44 (Obama) for 8 years and kept quiet. Here is my issue with the whole, “let us all be a United States again” that we heard from Joe Biden. For the last 4+ years, the Democrats have gone and scorched earth. You have salted the fields and now you want to grow crops. The problem is 75 + million of us have memories longer than a hamster.
We remember the women’s march (vagina hats and all) the day after inauguration.
We remember the 4 years of attacks and impeachments
We remember “not our president” and the “Resistance…”
We remember Maxine Waters telling followers to harass us in restaurants.
We remember the Presidents spokesperson being kicked out a restaurant.
We remember hundreds of Trump supporters physically attacked.
We remember Trump supporters getting Doxed, and fired from jobs.
We remember riots, and looting.
We remember the Presidents family getting verbally attacked with filthy name calling.
We remember “a comedian” holding up the President’s severed head.
We remember Madonna saying she thought a lot about blowing up the white house.
We remember actor Johnny Depp asking, " when was the last time an actor assassinated a president?"
We remember a play in Central park paid with public funding, showing the killing of President Trump.
We remember Robert de Niro yelling “F" Trump” at the Tony’s and getting a standing ovation.
We remember Nancy Pelosi tearing up the State of the Union Address.
We remember that none of these so called human beings was were brought to justice.
We remember Kamala Harris paying the bail for the rioters and then funding them so they could tear down our Great Country from the inside out.
We remember all charges were dropped for those so called peaceful marchers that ripped this Country to shreds. The ones who continue to spread hate and racism to divide us one and all.
We remember the total in the tank move on the mainstream media.
We remember the non-stop and live fact checking on our President and his supporters.
We remember non-stop in your face lies and open cover-ups from the media.
We remember the President and his staff being spied on.
We'll remember two fake impeachments based on lies and the hatred of the left.
We remember five Senators shot on a ballfield.
We remember every so-called comedy show turn into nothing but Trump hate fest.
We remember 95% negative coverage in the news because of their political bias.
We remember the state governors asking and getting everything they ask for and then blaming Trump for their problems.
We remember a Trump top aid verbally assaulted in two DC restaurants.
We remember people banging on the Supreme Court doors.
We remember that we were called every name in the book for supporting President Trump.
We remember that Hollywood said they would leave after Trump was elected but they stayed.
We will always remember that this is how the left is Uniting this Country by dividing us all and defunding the Police.
We will remember Biden letting twelve million immigrants into this country on inauguration day and giving them citizenship pushing them to the front of the line no questions asked. Just for flocking here so he could look good while he puts this country, meaning you and I in financial ruin, like the state of Delaware he ran for 40+ years. That state is poverty stricken and he is to blame.
This list is endless, but you get the idea. My friends will be my friends, but a party that has been on the attack for 4 long years does not get a free pass with me.
Copy and pasted from a friend because it is the truth, ...especially when this election is exposing the integrity of not only this election, 🇺🇸 but also future elections to come.
God Bless America!

Probably. But that's one of the obstacles to moving forwards. I don't know how many people that "We" is, but its not small. Its also not the entire 74 or so million that voted for Trump.

The whining of a fragile conservative; filled with lies and loaded language.

As well as irrelevant takes. Who cares if some Hollywood actor/entertainer said whatever?

Biden can say what he wants, but the fact is, The feeling is mutual on both sides. Especially after the insurrection attempt and recent senate bill voting.

GOP is becoming the grand Q party. There can be no compromise.

And they wonder why the cliche of the bible thumpist racist hillbillie is a thing.

I mean, seriously this:

You have to be full of shit to believe we should believe what He says. And this is why we keep calling them a cult.

There's already problem with the first sentence, a truckload of thoses ''we'' can't really say then they tolerated Obama. The last 12 years coule be argued to had been not much more than toxic partisanerie on both side. Crying a river over the others issues while not even at their own problem isn't likely to make ting work.

The non stop fact checking is more on Trump than the media. I don’t think that man has ever said a truthful thing in his life.

I seriously doubt that they would call the impeachment’s fake if it was Biden or Obama who did the things that Trump has. Heck they would be calling for blood.

Everyone remembers. Trump and Fox News has been doing this for 4 years... now that even they are struggling to cover it up, the Trump base has turned on them as well

Well, asking a foreign country to help with your election... if the other country response is a "LOL, no... GTFO" you're clear because no one really helped you?

The second one, in no point called an insurrestion. Just told them to be in a place where they can cause problem on their own...

I see, Trump did nothing wrong

1984 is a novel that talks about a totalitarian government that uses technology to spy on citizens. The article you link (thanks for the link, btw) talks about the effort from private citizens to uphold democracy. So Trump was so toxic (before the election, before the failed insurrection) that not only even corporate america decided to stop supporting the child emperor, I swear all this schadenfreude is going to make me shine like a light bulb

So, it is like crying "wolf, wolf!" when it is clear for everyone it is a fish, as in, wtf!?

It's about the framing. One man's fascist dictator is another's savior. My freedom fighters, your terrorists. My education, your indoctrination. My defenders of democracy, your billionaire corporate swamp creatures...and so on.
