OH FU-

They're dropping dead like flies! Kondou beheaded... Harada is never seen again.... Okita gone... And Hijikata has to be there watching all this happen, poor guy. I have to say I'm loving the tragicness of this season, it's just so much more impactful and emotionally engaging. But really, three characters gone in one episode? Wow.

I have to admit that Okita went out pretty awesomely. I felt for his character there despite disliking him since S1.

Next episode seems to be Saitou-centred!

No!!!! So they are really gone.
I wonder if Harada is really dead, but Chizuru has never seen him since then. And Okita, I know his death would come soon but I still couldn't accept it. But at least he fought awesomely and died with pride.
It's really depressing to see two of my favourite characters gone.

The last scene is impactful and really gets to me. For the first time I cried while watching this series.

*shrugs* matter of tastes, I guess. It's just like how I love Toshi and nobody else does. I think Okita is mainly due to his seiyuu, though, I don't know why but I just find his drawl to be a bit unappealing.... Don't mind me.

Subs have been lagging for this series since ep1. I wonder why? Oh well, people are just busy I guess.

There is... something unbelievably erotic if not romantic about Hijikata drinking/licking the blood off of her neck. You might as well consider this intentional on their part.

Episode 5 was more or less a shipping episode for you know what... likewise a sign of graver things to come.

Nice Saito-centred episode, it doesn't seem like we'll be seeing him again though, since we had a goodbye with him with that emotional montage and Chizuru crying (again). Loved the parting between Saito and Hijikata, though, they shared such a nice bond

Next episode, it sounds like Heisuke and Sannan (perhaps, if we take the game into account) are the next to go. These guys are going like flies, really O.o

In history, Sanosuke joined a battle after he left Shinsengumi and died during the battle. But the strange thing is, his name wasn’t found in the list of people who died in the battle. So there was a saying that he became the leader of a horse bandit. Also there’s a rumor that later during the war between Japan and China, in the north eastern part of China, an old man came to the Japanese army and volunteer to fight with them. He told the Japanese army that “I am Harada Sanosuke”. But this didn’t recieved a lot of attention so no one really confirm if this is true or not

In the ending of the Harada route in the game, Chizuru and Harada had a child and she said they went to a place that is not Japan and is probably based on the rumor that Harada Sanosuke didn’t die in the battle and went to China.

Well with Harada and Okita now gone... I guess we can say that the Shinsengumi may as well cease to exist as a distinct combat unit. Four or five main members left alive as of episode 6.

This is also shaping to be the most depressing show of 2010.
