Mai-Otome licensed by Bandai Entertainment
Since Bandai have licensed Mai Otome, AnimeSuki will no longer list torrents for it. In addition, the following posts are no longer allowed:
You still are allowed to discuss the anime, that has not changed, but please remember to limit the discussion to the story. This thread may be used to discuss aspects of the license. Mai Otome Zwei has also been licensed as has Mai HiME back in 2005. If a Mod notices anyone breaking these rules then expect to be banned from the forums. It's unlikely a warning will be given and do not expect to be notified, you will just be banned. Please use the Report button if you notice any of the above rules being broken. <End of edit by Mod (xris)> http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=11322 Bandai has the license. I don't think they have it for Zwei though, as Sunrise seemingly considers that a seperate series and Mai-HiME Project is calling it their 3rd production. Last edited by xris; 2007-07-21 at 15:01. |

... What the hell? This is Bandai. They'd only put the episodes on DVDs, which means no edits. |

Not yet licensed
Mai-Otome is still not licensed, because the torrents continue to be listed in the AnimeSuki group database.
According to xris, Bandai is on negotiations to acquire the license but had not reached a conclusive deal. Therefore, any incoming news about the licensing status will be dealt as rumors by the MODS, until Bandai officially announces that they have purchased the property. |

Didn't the law here forbid depictions of minors in "sexual situations"? How are they going to get away with ep. 24 then? Well, we now know that Sergay can't do girls to save his live, but back then... Even I thought he had actually done it with Nina. |

I'm an editor at Toon Zone, and yes, unfortunately that was an error by our reporter. I have confirmed with Bandai that the Mai-OTOME license is still under negotiation. My apologies for the mistake.
The article has been corrected. |

Though even if it goes on DVD directly, it's not exactly legal is it? |

But I do agree that it's only a matter of time before the license is announced. Negotiations like these can drag on for a while. Even if they have an agreement in principle, until all the financials are correlated, the license deal isn’t done. Cheers. |
