Subs are out.
First episode bought back some great moments again with the cast returning and science talk. Seems they just went with some narration rather than a recap. I see Senku already starting off the episode with his scientific thinking and clever plan of inventions. They all built things with him and we got 'space ramen'! A pretty entertaining return for the show if you ask me.

I didn't expect the first half to be anime-original stuff, or rather for them to throw in another invention (which is why so many scenes are repeated from earlier). Oh well, guess that counts as their general recap and its always fun to see Senku's science at work (and him and Gen plotting). That and they probably wanted to end the episode on that particular scene.
Really happy to see this series back. I think I liked the first second opening better but the new opening song is pretty good too. Now onto the stone wars. |

Stone Wars Beginning
Stone Cold, Stone World, Stone Wars.
After the two years hiatus, we're back in the game ready for Senku's Science Kingdom to tackle Tsukasa's Empire of Might. Hopefully, Senku and Gen might devise another strategy along the way to placate the future wrath of the enemy denizens once the Stone Wars are over, and the truth eventually gets either leaked out or revealed. That or they'll going to have to come-up with a convicing scape-goat or else face hell retribution. Instant, space ramen revived by science so very good. But, fake audio-recording to deceive enemies so very diabolical. |

That was pretty fun. I mean to be fair they never kept the abilities of the humans all that grounded or realistic. Look at Tsukasa. That guy is absolutely a super villain set with abilities beyond measure. So having a gymnast who is ridiculously broken isn't pushing things beyond what's already been established for this show.
Was good to finally get communications opened up. Seeing those two again was nice. They've been absent for a really long time. Now they can finally be included in the story and start playing a role here.

Well, you have a super-human brute (Tsukasa) and a genius who can count the seconds for thousands of years... Then there is Gen's insane abilities. So nothing is going to be way out there by these standards.

Way too strong people has been standard for this series. Even Taiju is too strong and tough, but its mostly played for laughs in his case. Though Gen is actually pretty normal, since he's good at manipulation rather than strong body.
That "cellphone" sure is coming in useful already. And its been a long time but nice to see Taiju and Yuzuriha again. When it was just Senku and Taiju, I found Taiju annoying but with the much larger cast now, its not a problem. |
