Nope......those were different from Hisouku no Sora and BLAZE. Conveys different atmospheres. PSI-Missing especially has a more I dunno modernish, science city feel than the fantasy feel of Hisouku no Sora even if the singer is the same. This new OP however resembles JOINT to quite a large extent, To the point that one would think this came from Shana rather than Index

^ Yeah, I said the songs had a different atmosphere, but the overall style is exactly the same.

And it's still not a dark story. Just because it has serious moments doesn't make it a dark story. Any story where nearly no one dies and all the villains turn to the good side after being defeated by the protagonist is not a "dark story". Just note I say "nearly".

I think the quality is THERE! with awesome background! music! then va!

the only problem left is how they would tell the story......................... people keep telling no buts! is similar on shana's joint .......... it gives me a bad feeling knowing it's from shana II........... how will index II be foretold.

No buts! does not sound like Joint (the mood) at all. :/

And it's silly to use an OP as judgement for how a show's management will turn out. It's completely up to the directors, and the director for Index has stated he plans on keeping it close to the novels, unlike Shana II where the director decided to twist the story and focus on the love triangle rather than the overarching plot. The one thing we have to worry with this director is how long the expositions will be.

And is anyone else constantly replaying Magic∞world? I can't wait to hear it in better quality, it sounds so awesome. Seriously, the more I listen to it the more I love it.

Loved the Index S1 songs (except Masterpiece), but these new ones don't stand out enough to me.

That's probably more of a series composition issue. I wish they'd replace Masanao Akahoshi (his Daimaou episodes exhibited pacing and structuring problems too) as lead writer, but I guess they want to retain the same team. At the very least, it'll probably be done in a similar style to S1.

It does have the potential, any incident to do with Accelerator by default is a dark story (notice all those volumes that he brought up ). But it just lacks the extra step, you could tell that the author is still playing it safe.

As for bad guys... If you somehow survive your initial appearance, there's a good chance you won't be in danger later on
