Well, that's exciting. Anime-original and not a recap, apparently.

Hopefully the story will not involve Villain Alliance.

This series is really being promoted. 3 seasons + 1 movie. I wonder how many series can get this type of treatment.

When you’re #4 among all manga in yearly sales, you get plenty of promotion most of the time.

A movie? This should be exciting, One Piece movies do this all the time and is entertaining, looking forward to what they do with this type of series.

It's an anime-original movie so going by the likes of Naruto movies or other shounen movies of this type, will probably be the original character/heroine of the movie.

Seeing All Might with actual eyes like that feels sort of weird. It's going to take some time getting used to.

Mind you I saw this raw and my Japanese is a work in progress, but as these sorts of tie-in films go I thought the movie was one of the best. It was easy to tell Horikoshi was involved in the scenario design - the whole thing felt mostly canon.

My fear is the movie being like One Piece Strong World, where there was a great advertisement of how Oda was involved in the story and even had references in the manga and in the end it was a mediocre movie, worth nothing in particular, only with good animation.

I'm not a One Piece fan so can't comment on that, but as a HeroAca fan the movie certainly didn't play that way for me.

The film grossed more than 500 million yen in the first 3 days of theatrical release, being considered a success

They do not usually release such information, but Japanese movies are much cheaper than you think compared to American animated movies, I believe My Hero Academy movie should not have gone from a budget of 10 million dollars.

hm, interesting.

Funimation announced that they'll be screening it in the US as well. My local theater is gonna show it, which is cool.
