hi, does anyone know a good sword fighting anime that is pack with fighting, and a lot less talk, cuz i saw a lot of fighting anime and most of them are just talk talk talk, hardly any fighting.
i saw air gear (just talk.... and crows), yaiba (a little old), bleach, naruto (too much talk), samurai chapploo (more talk, and the battle is a little hard to see) |

Well there isn't a ton choose from:
Juuni Kokuki - awesome character development and story Inuyasha - lots of mindless shounen battles, but kagome kept me watching ^^ Rurouni Kenshin - its all about the sword fighting, awesome protagonist Blood+ - nice ongoing vampire-esque anime Shakugan no Shana - decent Those are most of the sword fighting anime around.... and they all have got the "talking" to some extent... I mean, without the "talking" you might as well be watching it with the volume off You might try Berserk, it was one of my first anime so I dont remember it all too well, but I'm pretty sure talking was at a minimum... I hated the ending though. Last edited by jedinat; 2006-08-18 at 22:21. |

If you can find it (its licensed): you might enjoy Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran (or known as Tsukikage Ran: Carried By The Wind).
Its a retelling of the old classic samurai tales from the Edo period... the catch is that the samurai is a female who's sort of accompanied by a chinese martial artist named Meow). The samurai lives for drinking sake and her sidekick is full of righteous indignation at most anything (its been called Xena, japanese style but I think this is better than Xena). The main point is that it has some of the *best* animated swordfighting sequences I've seen in *any* animation and some of the dryest humor outside of a Clint Eastwood spaghetti western. Its available still I think in a Perfect Collection video for less than $30 last time I saw it for sale.

Eventhough I think of Blood+ as a very decent show, I must say that at least 70% of it is just talk and more talk.
Some of the episodes are 100% story driven (no fights) and that alone may be enough to make you hate the show. Just watch a couple of episodes and you'll get a pretty good idea of what you are getting into.
