February 26.

It goes without saying that I am waiting for this one. Manglobe kicked some ass with Samurai Champloo and I am darn sure Ergo Proxy will be good as well. 8)

Also, I think this should go in DVD and Licensed, since this is a Geneon USA production.

I'm sure I read somewhere that it comes out on the 25th?

Then again, what's 1 day

It truly looks amazing. I am huge fan of Champloo, so I can't wait.

It just looks so dark and depressing though. Why is the future always like that?:F

Just saw the extended preview they've showed on WOWOW channel recently. The anime looks absolutely stunning. The gothgirl is kicking all sorts of ass... 8)

This is probably going to be the breakthrough anime of 2006. Those kind of animes were really lacking in 2005.

Even for 2006. If you checked out some raws you'll notice that most of the shows mysteriously seemed to have their budget sucked out of them, rendering them crappily like Negima animation. Only 2 shows seemed to be qualified to be the budget-sucking culprits. One is Fate Stay Night, the other is Ergo Proxy.

Well, so far 2006 has been lacking in good anime, but you have to be fair to the last year, which had a plethora of big budget series. Comte de Monte-Cristo, Advent Children, Air... just to name a few.

The plot sounds kinda like Aeon Flux, Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed thrown together into a blender.

Although that's not really a bad thing, it sounds kinda cool.

Is it true this is the first ever anime to be animated in true High Definition? So potentially the first anime to really see benefits of Blu-Ray / HD-DVD?

Btw, I have seen the raw invitation extended trailer, but not sure if they mentioned anything there.
And, working in the animation industry, we regularly use HD resolutions (2560 x 1440), but that only means the picture will just be downscaled to regular DVD res. Curious as to what resolutions these guys are dealing with.

No. Samurai 7 was animated in high definition, IIRC.

This is one of the shows that I've been anticipating for the winter-lineup.

I can't wait for the release! It's only 1 month away so just gotta sit tight for now.

The second introduction mainly dealt with the technical aspect of creation of Ergo Proxy. We got to meet the director, the writer, the character designer, some animators.

It was interesting, if you want to see how an animation studio looks like.

Ok...when is this airing again? Also I wonder if there's a chance in hell that we could get a subforum for this thing... *crosses-fingers* This by far seems to be the most visually challenging anime and once every few years type of production...It'll be a shame if more people don't know about it...Anyways I thought it was airing last week...What's the deal?

Subforum? LOL

This series has gotten less than 20 posts about it, almost zero hype and fanboy squeeling, and you want a subforum? 8)

Anyway, it's airing at the end of February, not January.

Don't you think I know that?? I was trying to let that fact slide as to create a scenerio where more people could get interested (I know i'm more inclined to watch shows that have forum so that I can join the discussion)...thanx for exposing this fact (which I was trying to get pass )...Thought it would get exposed, but in the first post reply, sheeeesh....Wanted to see if a couple guppies were gonna bite at it first...Somehow we got to get this anime more exposure...
