@MACVazquez
I think for this riddle... yes. @NightWish I'm... in a hurry to go to sleep. Kind of tired. The explanation for the 2nd one is Thread Index is on top of answers in Tech Support, That one is longest thread title there. "Time"ing is all over the post.I'm pretty sure about the second part of the riddle. The key is something to do with time. I'm guessing the first part is probably part of where I should search for time. So there should be a searchbox, or I should use a search box; something like the one in FAQ. This one http://forums.animesuki.com/faq.php?...l&titlesonly=0 ?

me too... but I give it a last try for today:
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...highlight=time (I already feel it is not the right answer, but curiosity drives me) @Nightwish, of course, I can wait. ^^

None of the answers so far are correct. For me this process is a good measure of the sort of answers we'll get I think.
Second Hint: You'll only get the URL by looking for it on the page. You have no hope of "working it out" without looking. This is the main reason why I think riddle answer is not really suitable for the actual contest. It is far too obscure and unexpected. Quote:
I don't expect this riddle to be solved; not because it is good but because it is specifically crafted to show pitfalls to avoid when making a riddle for the contest. Pitfalls that make the solution finding process less fair. I'll show you how you might answer this sample riddle eventually, which will hopefully make the process much clearer when the real riddles start. |

@felix: You're going in the correct direction, but the unexpected nature of the answer is what is tripping you up.
@Godlike1889: As this is just a trial run to show the process, I'll confirm it does. In fact that brings up a point about writing riddles. The original riddle submitted was basically a quote of the riddle presented to Bilbo, which everyone seems to be somewhat familiar with. Clearly on its own it isn't immediately obvious what the solution is and plausible answers are too plentiful. The parts I added (blue) were to demonstrate why such a riddle doesn't work and how it might be "corrected" for the purposes of this contest. Hint Three: The "key" (to finding the answer) is time. (not much of a clue now is it :P) |

@CrowKenobi: Not correct, but you're thinking along the right lines in terms of obscurity. The problem with your answer is it fails the requirement for a URL. There is a URL.
@MACVazquez: Nope, but another good answer that does fit most of the riddle. I like the way you kept the highlight in the URL, that's getting close to the solution behind the complexity/obscurity, but it still isn't correct. @Rennir: Not a bad interpretation, thinking in the correct sort of direction. I will reiterate part of the requirement to be clear: the URL is part of the forum and does include "forums.animesuki.com" in it. @Marcus H.: No, but if you found that thread you've worked through (possibly past) the solution. |
