Searched and couldn't find a topic on it or any of its other iterations, probably because I'm a failure, but I thought now would be a good time to make one.

Earth Defense Force 2025 is made by a Japanese company called Sandlot, known for making absolutely bonkers games, and it's currently free for PS+ subscribers on PS3. And let me tell you, it is a fantastically ridiculous game. Never seen so many giant bugs and robots at once, never seen so many explosions... it's a third person shooter with a variety of weapons (machine guns, shotguns, mortars, grenades, gatling guns, grenades, missile launchers, turrets, sniper rifles, lasers(!!!), flamethrowers, exploding roombas. You can even call down helicopters, gigantic tanks and robots, and air strikes. There's even a character who's got jet packs and can fly around the place. The scale of the boss enemies is bigger than any game I've ever played short of other Sandlot games or Shadow of the Colossus, and in addition to the giant bugs there are giant robots, including transforming ones. It's also got online multiplayer, and it will definitely give you a good amount of dififculty and time investment if you want to complete absolutely everything.

Highly recommended as long as you don't have 4.1 for Steam... but that's not free right now, so forget about that.

Grab it while now you can if you have PS+ and enjoy the chaos. It's one of the most addicting games I've ever played.

I played the first game... but I always have an issue with Engies... DON`T GIVE US A TURRET CAP LIMIT!!! Seriously the amount of enemies is no joke!
