You know something, I had this episode down for another "spring cleaning" for secondary characters. I was wanting character like Todou and Chiba to die with honor and heroics, yet the bring back characters that were thought dead.

C.C.'s death flag went up in my view.
It's just like how V.V. was. They're both cocky about how they can't die so they go out and fight in Knightmares. They both get beaten. They except to keep on living, but their Codes get taken away (true for V.V., last part is speculation for C.C.)

Only because he appears to have betrayed them. Look at it from her point of view. He's done some pretty terrible things in such a short span, and the threat to the hostages from FLEIJA isn't helping.
