Someone mentioned the crane earlier.
The cranes are symbolic of people.
From Season 1 finale, when Villeta confronted Ohgi, there were blue and black cranes.
After she shot him, the black crane fell down.
Now, we saw a pink crane.
Who could that possibly represent?
If we based it on hair colors, there's Anya and Euphy.
But I doubt it was meant for them.
C.C.'s Lancelot was pink, so it could mean C.C.
But Lelouch is definitely the furthest thing from pink.
Don't say Lelouch lived just because of that.

Reminder: The official line is that this was the absolute end, no technically we shouldn't except any continuation at all (Gundam Seed -style compilation movie would be a possibility)

However, who knows if that might change in the future. Part of me almost wishes to see more, would love to see more of my dear C.C.

so, assuming that maybe C.C. gave her code to Lelouch before he went on parade, and that he actually lived through the sword through his stomach, and the flashback was just a farwell to all the people he knew, before he went into hiding as a farmer with C.C....

wouldn't C.C. be dead?

and would there be a point (other than a movie/ova/R3 continuation) of him living in hiding forever?

Nunnally makes pink origami cranes. She learned that from Sayoko. She has one in the OP. You're supposed to write a wish in the piece of paper and fold it into a crane. She writes her wishes on them.

Well, Narona, I think that's the point. People can quite literally take away any ending they want from what was given. Heck, with Kallen's character song, one could even imagine Lelouch returning to Kallen one day. Everybody wins (so actually nobody wins ).

I'm assuming it must be from a scene where Kallen confronted Lelouch before the end that was cut from the final print to make the ending ambiguous enough for everyone to win. It would explain Kallen's smile in the end. Maybe there will be a special edition where we see it.

Still, if I could write Japanese, I would write SUNRISE and ask them why Kallen didn't get one final confrontation w/ Lelouch. There was some closure because she understood, but it still feels like there was a certain lack of a proper ending.

He's not gonna go begging the corporate heads for more episodes which he never intended.

If there's OVA/movies, then they will probably not focus on Lelouch.
Lelouch is done. Whether he's alive or not, his goal was accomplished, and the world is peaceful (BTW, I hate the fact that Ohgi is the head representitive that meets Nunnally)

Man I dunno why but I preferred GSD's sucky ending over this sucky ending (prolly cuz there's more closure). Im generally disappointed over this last episode. The last epi cud have been gud though if it were 45mins. Seems kinda rushed to me. And C.C. being alive without her name revealed rly juz pisses me off. Its juz horrible writing for her character.
