Yeah, just saw 23 myself - another nice Christmas present from HQA and AonE! Kotori was also my early favorite in this series, and it makes me want to play the game to get more of her side story. I assume that, in the game, you can choose which characters you'd like to spend the most time with, and the ending of the game adjusts accordingly... I understand, of course, that for the anime, they had to pick one story to go with. That being said...

I've gotta say that I was a little bit disappointed that things worked out the way they did. I mean, Kotori, a girl who is finally confronting her own fears and taking a chance without the comfort of hearing others' thoughts, confesses the love she finally confessed to herself, gets rejected... I guess I was kind of hoping/wishing for her and Asakura to have their "special moment" anyways, as Yoriko did... I have a feeling that Asakura's little "cheer up" speech in the middle was supposed to be their moment, but I think something may have been lost in the translation. It just seems as though, although he was being kind, he just didn't have any feelings for her at all... which was perhaps the point. Oh well... as Keitarou20 said, that means she's still available...

And also, I continued my bad habit of reading the episode preview on the official website. The preview for the final episode is up and... (extra caution - big spoiler from the final episode preview on the official website)

It seems as though Asakura is going to need to be the bravest one of all. I guess it would have been too much to expect this series to have a happy ending (defined by me as one where Nemu and Asakura can stay together and continue to love each other). I guess it was a dream that was never meant to be. It looks like they'll "release" Nemu by taking her memory, but... Poor Asakura, though... It all being "only a dream" doesn't seem like such a bad ending anymore... I am understanding more of what you were saying, kj1980...

I was disappointed myself with that "speech" to Kotori. But sadly he doesn't say more than that or even something really insightful. If I wouldn't root myself for Nemu I might be angry too.

He can handle delicate moments, as he has shown in past episode, with Yoriko for example or one of the simplest and most beautiful declarations of "love" when he retrieved Nemu from under the tree in their childhood.

Oh well, wait for 24 which is much better handled (but also way more sad) than 23.

Yeah, my only explanation for it, assuming it was all in character and not just an error/oversight by the writers, was that he just really had no feelings for Kotori at all. How sad! That being said, though, since I also am rooting for Nemu now, it's obvious that his heart is completely set on her...

Spending the night in line at Comike 65, I was watching D.C. Episode 26 on my Sony VAIO where I recorded the TV on to its HD so I have something to do (and get warmed up) while waiting for the doors to open, as I wait since 4AM, battering zero-degree centigrade temperatures.

I am writing this post from the local wireless hotspot inside Ariake Big Sight as I take a rest from doujinshi shopping...

Honestly, it could've been better. But at least Sakura realized that it wasn't her hate for Junichi, but her fear of being rejected by Junichi that was causing the sakura tree to re-grow. And Nemu walks toward the tree...

Hmm...quite different from Nemu's ending in the D.C. game, but it still was okay. She should've gone to the school, but went to the sakura tree instead. I guess then that the story followed Sakura's ending. But then, Nemu should've...ahh, who cares. An ending is an ending. Director Miyazaki Nagisa made a quite a good adaptation to the game, I would give it an overall 90 points.

The ending...

Murasaki Izumiko speaks! But where is Ms. Kuwatani Natsuko's credit in the ending!?

Tomochan and Mikkun shows their faces!! M...moe~...

and...Misawa Yoriko-san!! You must be the favorite character of the seisaku-staff members ^^ I mean, who would want a cat-eared maid-san....me too...

I couldn't help but get all teary eyed at the very end when he opens the memory box with Robot Miharu's key, and reads the note... Man... that was just so well done. I realize, of course, that the note was written by the real Miharu, but still... wow...

Incidentally, this is what I mean by having a "special moment". Unlike episode 23, Junichi's little speech in this episode was so much more "him" - be who you want to be, and my duty is to protect you... *sniff* What a touching "big brother" thing to say, from the guy who everyone calls (or used to call) onii-chan (or nii-san).

And now, we're all setup for the big finale... the tree is back... I guess you can't wish away a tree that grants wishes, unless that is the true desire of your heart... Although it's probably too much to ask, I'm still hoping for a little bit of happiness in the ending...

And, theMug, for what it's worth, you've earned my respect. I know that doesn't mean much coming from some dude on a forum, but I just wanted to say that. In this day and age where so many people are fansubbing for fame and popularity, people who fansub for the true love of anime are becoming a rare breed. Da Capo is such a great series, and I'm glad that you guys are subbing the manga, because I'm not sure I can let go so soon either! Checked out the first chapter, and it's great - it looks like things are taking a slightly different twist than the anime, which is neat. Anyways, thanks again!

Just watched ep24...(sniff, sniff)

Yoriko and Miharu are two of my favorite anime characters, I thought both were just so much fun to watch.

When Yoriko turned back into the cat I was crying my eyes out, but I thought it was very well done. And now here I am again crying over ep24.

I like Nemu but I never got really attached to her the way I did with Yoriko and especially Miharu.

The way they are writing these Im sure I'll be all worked up over Nemu too.

The only characters left I really care about are Sakura and Moe-chan.

I remember the episode where the robot Miharu got in the flame war and was bidding on things on Ebay. And now shes gone. She will be missed.

First of all, there was no Moe's episode. The series ended without even touching upon Moe's dead boyfriend.

Ep. 26, we see Miharu, true form, turning along with the rest of the crowd as Junichi runs to the school to meet up with....Nemu, all "cured" and in a new uniform.

On a side note, Miharu got into a flame war on Japan's most notorious BBS site, 2ch. And since this is Japan, we don't use EBay. Our main auction site is Yahoo! Auction on Yahoo! Japan's website.

Yea your right. Most subbing groups nowadays do it all for popularity, not for love of the anime. It's great to see there's still a few groups out there doing it for their ideals and not fame. Great job AonE!!

I don't understand the concept of you people wanting to read the manga....it was serialized on Comptiq magazine, it was a poor adaptation of the original game, and the drawing sucks compared to the actual CG drawings done by genga-artist Nanao Naru from the original D.C. game.

If you want the real story, play the game.
