Remember, some burst linkers has started to discard RL for AW because of the time they spent. To them, AW is their reality. Essentially, it is reversed situation of SAO. Instead of escaping VR and go back to reality, they want stay in AW instead of reality. In essence, the goal of KYH may be justified. As time pass, more and more people will be will be staying in VR to the point we might have a situation similar to the Matrix.

Not really. Remember, for the Unlimited Neutral Field, it's been 8000 years since it was created. It's very easy for someone to spend an amount of time during the day that's normal for entertainment, in the UF and spend huge chunks of time inside it that are still just a fraction of the time that's passed for it. Even if she spent just 4 hours a day in the unlimited field, after 4 years, she'd be over a century old. And the unlimited field is where lots of the action is. Enemies to hunt, burst linkers to hunt, better equipment to be found or bought. Lots of reasons to spend quite a bit of time there.

Even so, I still feel there's something wrong with wholly abandonment of the physical world. Short of having full-blown Fulldive addiction as the "experts" would say, moving house to AW is only a means of borrowing time. One way or another, you'd be woken up, and because of the extreme time difference, you'd be so lost and out of touch with the real world, you might very well just have screwed your future. That's not so good for a young teenager.

On other news, I came across a thread started by the Chinese translator reekilynn, the translator for most (if not all) of the AW novels and WEB Alicization. The thread isn't very long, but the headline An alternative perspective of the ARS. is the one that earned my attention.

I'll translate the full post later, but this sentence is the crux of the discussion, and I quote reekilynn:

I wouldn't use KYH as the most appropriate example, because the slice-of-life moments do show she still has Student Council work and responsibilities, and with that she is afforded certain powers. She has some tangible things to lose if she decides to abandon RL for VR...not that it would have mattered to her if she did so.

And what is that 4D reference?

Reekilynn doesn't mean GMs in the sense of the Super Accounts in Alicization. If I understood the post right, then he means that the ARS is there to stir things up if it gets too quiet, because in a PvP game duels are the life and soul of the system.

If you want GMs to win against Kings, then look no further than Diamond Angel/Neon Arsenal/Shadow Tesla. I hope I don't have to expand on that line.

That's what I meant. The possibility is still there that she might abandon reality for VR. Which may be the spark that forces Haru to fight KYH. With Haru embracing reality at the end of his charcter development and KYH possibly rejecting it.

Green Grandee did say he is supporting the AW like Yggdrasil in Norse Mythology. Isn't that the purpose of a GM? In that way, ARS is doing the same but in a different approach. One that is Darwinism in nature.

Yesterday during a discussion on QQ {think MSN for the Chinese}, the subject changed to the ARS.

To put the conclusion of the discussion first: The ARS {members} are the Game Masters of AW, and from AW's "Internals mechanics" interfere with organizations in AW . (tusjecht note: This "Internal" thing is a term that is used throughout the rest of the post.)

From V4, those who have their copies of BB forcibly uninstalled also lose all memories related to BB. (A possible method is blocking the memories, or simply deleting them.) In other words, BB has the ability to manipulate the memories of users. And the aim of the ARS for AW is thus akin to that of a Forbidden Index, or that of an underground movement in schools - interfering with AW by covert means the average person can't see. The counterpart to "Internal" is "External", which includes the vast majority of Burst Linkers, and all Pure Colour Kings except for White King.

Developing from this understanding, we analysed the two events the ARS are involved in.

(1) Saffron Blossom's execution and the emergence of The Disaster
From the conclusion above, the creation of The Disaster was an unplanned result of the ambush of SB.

"Mm. First, save up a large amount of Burst Points, and distribute it to those who are running low. Until they are safe, and can repay they points lent by hunting Enemies together. But in the infant AW system that is just over a year old, its easy to see its disadvantages: these kinds of practices are not facilitative to the growth and development of "External" Burst Linkers.(Tusjecht note: in plain english, its as though one year after discovering oil can be used for nearly everything, the OPEC countries decided to take over each and every oilfield for their own "charitable" use.)

To avoid such a situation, at that time the ARS (likely a forerunner for the group later on) then organised Saffron Blossom's EK situation. And the creation of Disaster Armour was an unintended consequence of that--but all the same, it was put to the purpose of the ARS, the Artificial Metal Colour Creation Scheme. Magnesium Drake, the second owner of The Disaster, was probably a result of this, and later on was the reference material for the ISS kits. In V9, Black Vise's intention was to collect Crow, who has been completely taken over by the Armour, for further research about it, and among other objectives put the finishing touchs to the mass-distributed ISS kit.

Reading the original post, I'd like to make some corrections:

Spoiler for Size:

-加速研究会是Brain Burst的GM从加速世界的“内侧”干涉加速世界的组织形式 - This meant ARS sees themselves as GMs, not that the system or plot recognizes them as official GMs.

-rather than 'forbidden index' in AW, it was more talking about the series Toaru Majutsu no Index how the Dark Side of Academy City controls the place from the shadows. The AW equivalent of TAMNI Dark Side is basically the Internal Side. ARS doesn't plan on using BB to gain advantages IRL. White King and ARS closest to this 'Internal'/shadow side, while everyone else including the other 6 Kings are 'External' side.

-True that Chrome Disaster forming was not planned. ARS' goal was to limit the growth potential of External side.

The next point talks about ISS kits. Long story short, BB is a game built upon PVP, and what the 6 main Legions have right now is a false, enforced peace. Like KYH, ARS plans to break this peace, though they have more intrusive and underhanded methods. Reekilynn (henceforth RKL) also suggested KYH's exile from her home family was a plot by her parents who're acquainted with the Internal side, and sent her away to not be eliminated.

RKL's opinion is there's 3 ways to reach the Internal side from External: Reach Lvl10, Obtain 'The Fluctuating Light', or defeat ARS entirely. He also have a disclaimer all these above points are arguable.

Also, a few posts below RKL suggested Internal side is like Nasuverse's 'Gaia', while Silver Crow may eventually become like 'Alaya' - a state Kirito of SAO have arguably reached in UW during Alicization Arc's climax. RKL personally thinks this theory is even more crack theory than the one where Haru's father is (one of) the AW's developer.

I believe you all know that KYH and White Cosmos are real life sisters. I also believe you know that red Rider was planning on giving out a gun card to all the other kings as a sign of peace and how KYH attacked Rid Rider and turned a renegade.
Well the original reason why KYH turned on Red Rider was that White Cosmos lied to KYH that the Gun was fashioned to kill one of the other kings by simply pulling the trigger which forcing a stalemate within the game.
After killing Red Rider KYH confronted White Cosmos about it and White Cosmos admitted to her lie and added that KYH responded exactly as planned. KYH acted out of fury and attacked here sister in real life with a knife. This was also as planned by her sister and after receiving a cut she called their parents and KYH was subdued.
The parents seeing what KYH had done thought she was insane and exiled her to live alone as she would be a danger to her sister completing her sister's plan.
