Unless he is a Kage Bushin, and he has been fooling everyone since he finished his training several chapters ago...
Then again, that is too good for Kishimoto. Naruto's an idiot, and has always been one. So, there's no point in being overly worried about his idiocy any longer... |

It's simply a plot device. When Naruto gets in an actual serious scene his IQ will jump at least 50 points.
This is something that is annoying about the whole shounen genre in general (A trend of idiot leads whose intelligence fluctuates based on the moment).

Yamato could just merge with the ground with an earth jutsu and get out of there.
About Naruto's intelligence, I think it's that shonen curse that happens when the main character gets too strong. They have to balance him out somehow so he doesn't become a Mary Sue, so what do they do? Intelligence takes a nosedive. Goku had the same thing happen. The Deidara vs. Oonoki, Akatsuchi, and Kurotsuchi fight was great. I can see Kurotsuchi being a new favorite character among fans. Kabuto, what the heck have you done to yourself? Even Orochimaru looked pretty normal in human form. He seems to have arms attached to the snake body as well. What's with that? At least Manda I can kind of see, since it matches the Toho monster of the same name (and I think Kishi's a big Toho fan) but this? What a poor, poor freak. Both Madara and Zetsu think he's just a madman, even if he is competent for their purposes. |

Naruto will be the strongest, but he will never be the smartest. That's okay since he has people around him for that. Quote:
Maybe it's me, but I also thought she looked a lot more feminine this chapter than before. More Ankoish. |

Ksihimoto is making up some pretty lame excuses to make Naruto stay out of the fights. First a broken ankle, and now this?
And it would've been so great if this chapter was called "Snakes on a Turtle Island".

Kind of a dragged episode. I was hoping for some action for naruto, but it looks like we aren't gonna see any for a bit
btw does his unique sensing only works when accessing Kyubi's chakra or KC +Sannin mode?

One has to understands that naivety is not equal being dumb.
In this case it was shown that Naruto has an extreme level of naivety plus some dumbness. Without his naivety he would have to forfeit "rescuing" Sasuke. Hence motion of constraining him by telling the truth is moot, he would always escape. But by lying to him he can steal a secret scroll, etc. He is very cunning when properly directed. |

Actually, one could argue that the only true weakness of the Sharingan lies in its limited range of vision. ie the user will always have a huge blind spot. Rinnegan will probably help in this regard, if Madara uses the Paths of Pain, but if he doesn't, then the Byakugan might have been a better doujutsu for him. He probably could have seen Anko sneaking up on the hideout with it.
