waaaa after a long time this thread is still alive...
i wonder how many years have passed since the first time i watched the GK1969 anime.it is 1 of my most fav anime until now.just now i just fin watching GK1969 for the 4th time and want watch GK21 after dis.

All this years I've been wondering what happened to the rurippe and the others since they did not appear in GK21.the only thing i know is that shun ukiya already died in GK21 leaving his only daughter.and now u guys said there's a novel that linked both of the anime and it can only be find in Japanese. thx to davyu for the translation. but still i really hope there's an anime for this novel too

Am I the only one who regrets reading the novel? No offense to the translator it was good work of translation but I really hated the novel. Ruriko and Shun not ending up together is the reason why. Just seeing them separate in the novel sucks because I'm a big fan of them. I wish there will be a remake of this but it will probably not happen since the makers of GK might have already moved on. Still, after all that buildup in GK Anime and waste it by dumping it all. Cons of being a hardcore fan I guess.

To be honest, I didn't really like it either. Then again, you know they didn't get together in GK21 anyway. This is just to satisfy some of your curiosity as to why. You know what they say, curiosity killed the cat.

No it was not.

I just wish that I never found out about the sequels. I wanted a happy ending between them and the sequels really ruined it.

I have a certain affection for GK, but GK21... kinda meh, IMO. On the other hand, there's a certain irony when the big bad's running on a normal Gate, and her Negative Gate hits the reset button.

Still, it was one of the first series I ever saw. Maybe I'll look it up again.
