God this show needs to get licensed.
is the manga still going on or is it finished, i've seen up to volume 5 in RAWS....but i can't read much japanese sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lol

btw Im not sure I understand the character of hasegawa and why she is how she is....since the anime doesn't really explain the "bird inside a cage" stuff.......

and i could see her and Sawaki pair

It's definitely a fan service show if you’re a microbiologist! I know for a fact that a lot of biologists watched it just to ogle the cute microbes.

Not a lot tbh, since it's just normal chocolate and wine would pay a lot to have his knowledge but not his rather disturbing taste/interest

I think episode 9 covers it, she's trapped in a cage because of her being born to a rich family and the arranged marriage deal by his father. So she's stuck in the university or she ll be forced to marry her suitor.

I know but I think Sawaki and the gang kinda brought her out of her "antisocial" shell. like she says "she's seems like she has fun around all the guys"

The good thing about Moyashimon is it doesn’t let you down, it keeps up the same level of quality and interesting stories right to the end. It's one of those series where you never know where it will go next, it stays fresh and original.

Such a shame they cut it off at 11 episodes, with new surprises and twists emerging late in the series it feels like it was to have been 13 episodes but had the last 3 eps. compressed into one wrap-up episode.

I love how true this statement is when you think about the oh so brilliant festival episodes.

I'd love there to be a second series. The ending seemed so obviously set up for a second series (the start of sake brewing, the hint that Kei would be returning to the college - even the Microbe theatre section hinted at it).
We need more!

They didn't cut it short.

Kei is the childhood friend of Sawaki that you saw in the earlier episodes. He disappears in the middle episodes and it will be explained why in the later episodes.

Who cares about DVD's?
The toys are much more marketable - and they are already sold out.
If it is not a complete success - I don't know what is.

It's doing fairly well on DVD not as well as Mononoke (12k avg) but still fairly well, a 10K avg is considered the magic number for a "hit", though usually 5k is needed for a sequel.

Moyashimon *9,111 (3+) (Shirogumi)
2007/12/21 *9,258 Vol. 1 Limited Edition (Two episodes)
2008/01/25 *9,602 Vol. 2 (Three episodes up to Vol. 4)
2008/02/22 *8,473 Vol. 3

BSS released the first of the Microbe Theater specials today. Those were the two largest armies I've seen in any recent anime!

I'll have to devote more efforts to maintaining that tripartite armistice that appears to be taking place inside my intestines. I guess that means eating yogurt again.

Intestinal flower gardens......

If nothing else, it's great encouragement for children to drink Yakult regularly!

Loved the Microbe Theatre Deluxe, but I see I'm not the only one reminded of commercials for healthy yogurt drinks!
Maybe Yakult could sponsor a second series.
