"New anime" rather than "season 3" tells me this could easily be an OVA or another movie, but we'll see.

I liked the movie, it was more "epic" than the novel.

So I'm fine, being a TV series or movie, I would just find it disappointing to be m OVA.

In case people are wondering, so far 5 volumes got adapted with some changes here and there out of 17.

So if they ever want to adapt this fully, they have to really increase the pacing, and even then it would take 36 episodes (4 volumes in 12 episodes pacing).

Frankly speaking, I'm not against a selective adaptation concentrating on the remaining Demon King General volumes + some funny ones in 2-cour if it means getting a conclusion. I do believe the novel overstayed its welcome, so a tailored adaptation could certainly help.

made me remember that oscar-winning writer guy praising the movie and said that ".. it's the reason cinema was made"

As long as it's well made then it's ok for me, whether it's another movie or a new season

Tailoring is always a natural process of anime adaption, even for the faithful ones. Even the first two seasons more or less cut out most of the gags involving Dust.

However, as far as speed goes, rushing for the sake of plot is not a good way to deliver comedy.

They want to do another season! I'd love to see one that's more than ten episodes long. Would be fun if by some miracle they decided to power through and adapt the rest of the series, as it's been finished for quite some time.

I'm all for it. Honestly Megumin's solo show was a good reminder that this group is best when they are together. Let's get this whole bunch of crazy misfits on another adventure!

Will be fun to watch next year.
