Hmm, it looks like there's a title change for the upcoming series. Now, it's going by the name/title:

Episode 1:
Well that was kind of fun I guess? Hmm, we got the intro of the characters and music as well. Not sure how I feel about the Kao Council yet though. However, I do expect a lot from the Star Teams if they plan to impress the audience for the rest of the season.

Aww, and just when I hoped that finally I could hear Hosoya Yoshimasa make use of his beautiful voice again... he plays the deep-voiced gruff one.
So this is really a musical, huh... with random dance numbers and songs. I thought it was cute, in any case. (But so many pretty boys. So many.) Animation is whatever, but at least the dances were decently animated, voices as one could expect from the genre and the cast (except Hosoya, as noted above and Suwabe Junichi pitched his voice higher than usual), so overall it's pretty cute and harmless. And it does serve as a reminder that I should finally catch up with Shounen Hollywood.... |

I tried getting thru this...maybe I'll watch it later on. But all I kept thinking was how much the Kao Council or whatever reminded me of the Student Council in Binban, especially the greenhaired guy....and how the lead singer looked like Rei Ryugazaki...

Hmm, that was more entertaining than I expected.
I actually kind of liked that first song sung by that Kao Council...really enjoyed Daisuke Hirakawa and Junichi Suwabe voices in that song. Kensho Ono as Tōru Nayuki actually has quite a good voice, from what I can tell in that ED song when he sang his part when Nayuki appeared on screen. I actually like his voice better than the MC (Hoshiya). Couldn't catch Tomoaki Maeno's part in the ED song because of the chorus. I'll continue with this series for now.

I liked this. I felt like it had a similar tone to UtaPri, in how it's having fun with the whole 'idol school' concept, and the characters aren't exactly realistic but each have its own charming 'act'.
They managed to get across in one episode the traits one should expect from each of the guys that will be in the MC's Star Group, as well as give a pretty funny/interesting introduction to Otori, who's currently carrying the show for me. I just love the contrast of that 'irresponsible' personality of his, very playful, to the hilariously stern Kao Council guys, and seeing how he's going to handle the group of odd balls he picked for his team sounds promising. Animation-wise, not too good, which is a shame, but I do think the dance acts were decent enough. Music, though, I was pleasantly surprised. Huge fan of Elements Garden and their work in UtaPri, so having someone else handle this kind of thing, Ken Arai, in this case, was weird. But I especially liked the Kao Council song – both composition-wise and lyrics. The latter are so fittingly over the top, you can't not have a smile when you see a guy singing about how they're 'the princes you can meet', and how they're 'legendary because they're real'. Good stuff. I'll be tuning in next week for sure.
