A lot of people are explaining the title with Nadeko's story, actually.
Hitagi put an END to Nadeko's sordid tale of miserable one-sided love, her Koimonogatari if you will, so that she might follow her dreams. It fits pretty nicely if you think about how all the Season 2 books have been wrapping up the loose ends of the heroines (Hitagi's self, Tsubasa's lingering stress and insecurity, Kanbaru's future, Mayoi's... death, and now Nadeko's love) to make way for a Zaregoto-style showdown with Ougi in Season 3. |

I just hope that the epic battle did happen and it's just that they lost and Kaiki came to save the day at the end. Quote:
Also, I think the reason why Nisio did it like this is because he wants to set up Nadeko as an ally when the battle with Ougi happens. I also think the battle will probably happen AFTER HANA. Araragi and Shinobu - Vampirism Hanekawa - Energy absorption and fire breathing (assuming she can use her Kaii powers) Kanbaru - Devil parts (as far we know she still has them) Nadeko - Poison and snake summoning Last edited by CrowKenobi; 2011-12-21 at 14:30. |

True, true, but I suppose that I meant it as more of a general progression than an actual trichotomy.
It would seem that Nadeko Spoiler for Nadeko's fate:
(The Koimonogatari summary in my post at the top of the page describes this extraction process in more detail.) So she's just a normal human now, as far as we know. Last edited by Decathexis; 2011-12-21 at 06:45. |

And though it kind of goes without saying, it also seems fairly likely that Oshino will eventually come back in some capacity, what with Tsubasa going to the trouble of looking for him and the presumable significance of Ougi
Spoiler for Ougi:
But knowing Nisio, Oshino will probably come back as the secret bonus villain or something crazy like that. We also still don't know what Araragi and Episode were up to from back in Nekomonogatari, either. |

What!?? So this DOESN'T take place in March....the hell!!! Okay, okay, upon closer reading in Otori, Nadeko said the day the three of them came was in March but she didn't know exactly which day. So IT IS possible that Nadeko actually had no sense of what day it was and just assumed it was March.
As for the graduation event Kanbaru talked about in Hana....I'm just confused. Also, boo on Nadeko losing her powers. However I guess it was inevitable since it's pretty clear now that Ougi tricked Nadeko into eating the charm so that it couldn't be used against her. |

Spoiler for Title page:
Also, I love how the very first sentence in the novel is, "For all the readers who thought it'll be Senjougahara Hitagi that's telling the story, you've been tricked." On a scale of 1-10 of how much we were trolled during these past novels I would list them as such: Bake 1 - 1 Bake 2 - 1 Kizu - 1 Nise 1 - 1 Nise 2 - 5 Neko 1 - 6 Neko 2 - 1 Kabuki - 9 Hana - 2 Otori - 1 Oni - 6 Koi - 10 Last edited by omimon; 2011-12-21 at 10:36. |
