North Carolina has a non-negligeable gap in favor of the Dems at the moment (for what's counted, 59% Dems, 40% Reps) and the gap is slowly, but steadily getting wider in Florida.

My god, took 2 hours to vote for me. I was on the corner of three different precincts (there are like 20 in my local area), and they kept sending me around in a circle.

Finally decided to just go provisional ballot.

NY times has a pretty nifty livemap.

http://www.nytimes.com/

Really useful as you can see individual districts too.

Why do I find it funny that Reimu (main hero) is Republican and Sanae (player #2 ) is Democrat? Traditionally an anime site would have Reimu win...but Sanae is a good girl.......

It's funny how New Jersey is "too early to call" as it's election is extended all the way through Friday.

Woooosh! Obama taking over with a whooping total of 58 electoral votes against 33 for Romney all of a sudden so far.

Total count doesn't really matter, as a lot of those are from guaranteed states, so it's just a matter of when they 'close'. So far all the closed states are voting exactly as predicted. It's still coming down to the swing states like Ohio, Florida, Virginia, etc, to really give you a good picture of who is winning.

From what the early results give so far, Ohio looks largely Democrat, North Carolina looks to lean seriously towards the Democrats. Only Virginia looks to lean on the Republican side now.

edit: apparently a change in Florida... damn.

Yeah, I hate to be a curmudgeon but a lot of this is manipulated revelation by the media so you'll stay through all the commercial breaks to the end.

If you look at the district maps, you'll see that districts are not reporting in at an equal rate. For example, most of the coast districts of Virginia has not reported in yet (which are democrat leaning) whereas a lot of western districts already has.

Also, flips should be very common at this stage as a heavy democrat/republican district sending its tally in can easily sway the total in 1 direction or the other.

I let other people do that. I have an Internet and I'm going to use it (while listening to promotional tracks for the new Yamato 2199 ablum. All 46 of them).
