Wow, you met some lucky people then. Half the people I went to school with didn't even end up talking to one another into their adult years. And those who did get married...got divorced soon afterward. And met other folks, and maybe got married again, and so on.

I dunno about that. I wasn't even thinking of my high school years; I spent most of them in a long-distance relationship myself. But I know not everyone who has a relationship lasting through high school has it fall apart after graduation.

Is there anything left to develop in the Kira - Lacus relationship? Lol
They loved each other, period, hell the only thing lacking is Kira directly telling Lacus he loves her, and that time will come eventually

He did that many times already. Was just never shown in TV because Fukuda couldn't handle the Fllay backlash.
I assure you, Kira drilled Lacus harder than a dentist through a kid's cavity behind the scenes. XD

well geez mention the infamous flay "laid" kira scene really that was bit OH MY besides at GS took it a new level unlike that 00 (really set-light so need to get "LAID" even by pink hair blue eyes with Lacus voice already).

Anyway back to Kira and Lacus. I never really saw much return of feelings from Kira to be honest. He feels really passive when it comes to Lacus and she's always the one pressing all the buttons and caring for him. But for Fllay though...Kira actually does get emotionally involved. I would've liked the pairing of Lacus and Kira more if Kira actually returned some of the feelings on-screen instead of just giving a dopey smile. About all the Kira and Lacus having sex, don't worry we get plenty of that in doujinshis. |

While Kira and Fllay had to much drama in there relationship to work long term on the other hand Kira and Lacus seem to just fit well. |

We know he cares about her, it's been implied plenty of times before... he's just not really emotive about it. This, combined with the fact that their relationship has absolutely no conflict in it whatsoever to make it interesting makes my interest in the couple very, very slight.
I'm not joking when I said that Kira and Flay got all the romantic development and then he was handed off to Lacus for her series victory. Its just... boring, and to me reeks of poor writing. EDIT: And what a lot of people don't realize is this: drama helps develop relationships and it is by no means a harbinger of "It won't work out". Relationships don't work if both sides don't contribute to it, and while Flay's reasons for maintaining the relationship were the wrong reasons and the break-up WAS needed to help them work it out, their relationship didn't last because Kira couldn't handle it. Things might've been different if he'd stood up to Flay that one time instead of ending it there. Honestly, I believe if Flay had survived the final battle and had reached the Archangel, I feel there's a possibility that a romance could've been renewed between the two. And Lacus, being the kind-hearted girl she is, likely would've supported Kira on that if that was what he wanted. After all, Lacus has no reason to hate Flay, from what we've seen. She seemed more worried for the girl during their brief time knowing one another.

But his stronger reaction to Fllay was probably because he was going through emotional trauma during their relationship...and of course she died. I do agree that even in real life sometimes when you're compatible you just fit well and there's just no drama and it looks really stagnant when you're looking at it from the third person pov. So that does justify their current status...they just look boring together (in a show). |

Try not to completely ignore the character development because of a dislike or a character or a bias towards a pairing. It really doesn't work.
