Right now he's kind of...passive, with only two modes, the goodwill mode and the messed around with mode. Only in animeJapan can you keep up a girl's interest -- heck, a harem's worth of interests -- with just goodwill mode alone.

i liked the konoe scenes alot - even tho i think usagi is my fav character.

thing is, jirou has shown the most romantic interest towards the former

Well, yes, that's obvious. Too obvious, like a hammer blow. It's like the producers are afraid we might somehow not get the point that Subaru's the main girl and decided we needed a reminder with an obligatory sappy segment every episode.

^More like, we need to be reminded that he only truly has Subaru on his mind, and that all the other girls are just extras to him. They could flirt with him as hard as they wanted, but he'll never see them as anything else but good friends or just some random girl he just happened to have run into.

Not that it's less annoying, though...

Masamune should have done herself a big favor and played dumb rather than call Kanade out on her BS lies at the beach. Ever since then she's been a big time target of trolling. The game she received as a "gift" is dead on accurate and shows that Kanade is well aware of her omnipotent status in the show, and she has no problem rubbing it in people's faces . She is the puppet master pulling the strings that all our helpless victims dangle on. Things literally only move forward in the show because she wills it.

But occasionally our sadistic princess will come down to earth and show some mercy to our mere mortals, like she did with that discussion with Kureha in the limo. So... 90% trolling for her personal entertainment and 10% trolling/doing whatever it takes to help out the people she cares for. In anime, that's just enough to stop her from being vicious and cruel.

The right mix of absurdity and sentimentality. Everyone's presents to Kureha were also the right mix of strange and touching, from Kanade's game that she made the nerds make (and they have posters of fellow TBS shows in their clubroom, nice catch) to Nakuru's one-man-stage-show featuring pseudo-lesbianism standing in for pesudo-boys love. It has something to satisfy everybody! Of course, it's general knowledge that "Happy Birthday to You" is under copyright, and many restaurants have to come up with their own version of the song lest they be sued. This is what the cafe did this time. I knew it was coming when the character song album listed a Birthday song among its numbers, but it's nice to hear it too. The final gag with Masamune playing Kanade's other game was a great way to close things off. The show has a great side cast, and even if Subaru is the obvious winner, the rest of the cast shouldn't be ignored. I'm glad that they've been getting more screentime these past weeks.
