I think that physically speaking, he's Jonathan's son. But his Stand, due to metaphysical familial bonds, has inherited Dio's spirit, and since Stands can have an effect on the user's body, sort of overwrote his genes a little to express that.

You're probably right about this, but in Dio's case, you can handwave it away as him just not bothering much with it because he thought Stands were better.

Just the age retarding effect of Hamon would have been enough reason to practice it.
This so much. Seeing Joseph in DiA broke my heart a bit.

From what I've heard, Araki felt that he exhausted the storytelling potential of Hamon/Sendo/The Ripple with Battle Tendency, plus he saw that there were a bunch of martial arts combat manga coming out and decided to change the series.

I really love the design of the Black Sabbath (CR apparently translated as Shadow Sabbath).

Another thrilling episode this week.

The famous banana gun. The old man is avenged. Not sure it makes sense for Giorno's power to keep the gun transformed into a banana for so long or for Polpo to grab it exactly so that he has to pull the trigger, but whatever, it was cool.

Next episode will feature another classic scene.

So Giorno has the Righteous Heart of a Joestar but tempered by the kind of eye-for-an-eye vindictive justice of a gangster (not that past JoJo's haven't fallen into that as well). I guess that's probably the best you could hope for coming from Dio's kid and the kind of upbringing he had .

Black Sabbath looked like a way cooler Stand then someone like Polpo deserves, with it's design and fluid animation, but I guess that's kind of the point. But some crafty planning from Giorno helped turn things around .

I actually liked having Koichi around, but other then monitoring Giorno for Jotaro he doesn't really have much reason to stick around. Maybe he can pick up a souvenir for Yukako or the other guys back home while he's there ?

And I guess this also means we probably won't see anyone else, especially Jotaro, becoming involved in Giorno's future Bizarre Adventures, although I would be really interested to see Giorno meet Jotaro and Josuke .

I was expecting each member of the main cast would be introduced one-by-one, but it turns out they're already Bruno's team. How convenient .

Okay, this episode was probably the best one so far. Giorno keeps getting better and actual trust he is developing with other characters is noteworthy.

Yeah, Koichi's main role in the series is to be the character that JoJo fans would be familiar with when the newest JoJo is introduced, with his role in the story pretty much being done at this point.

Yeah a rather convenient way to assemble the main cast. Just have them be part of a team to begin with .

Giorno may be pretty willing to kill of those he feels deserves it. But in this case there wasn't much choice. The guy lives in a prison and yet can still do whatever he wants. No doubt the body count would only rise from here. Just another good reason to take over this organization and clean it up.

This was just the recruitment drive. What they do on a day to day basis can only be worse. And I doubt the boss here is building an army of stand users for a small scale operation.

The old man was an unfortunate victim in all this, but at least he's been avenged. Polpo got what he deserved.

Nice episode. We got a bunch of new characters and a new nemesis. Wonder who will exactly be the villain of this arc

That was quite the warm welcome Giorno received! Still not enough to prove himself, but he caught the interest of the gang with that stunt.

Next week, time to dance. I can't wait to see this scene animated.

Who could have guessed that a stand user would attack them?

Three parts with Stands, right? I heard Araki reboots the fighting system in one part

It's honestly so great to see the gang here:

Fugo, Narancia, Mista, Abbacchio. Welcome aboard. Giorno also made a hell of an impression to them so far.

Not really. There's just one character (two actually) who uses a different power to fight but the rest of the cast still use Stands.

thats pretty much a rhetorical question. "Its the work of an enemy Stand!" is a meme from Part 3 and on. Because, geeee something bizarre happened, could it be Aliens this time? Nope, Stand.

Part 3 and beyond: Stands
Part 7 introduces another ability but I don't want to spoil.

Unless you're talking Mikitaka. Then it's Aliens.

Maybe.

Abbacchio and his Stand, Moody Blues is here! Honestly, the unique nature of his Stand impresses me while adding a certain mystique to this week's episode.

Also really impresed by the animated fighting scenes.
