I've never really heard the term "multi" refer to "multiplatform" before, so...

OMG, i m so glad this series didn't die in the west after them suddenly coming out of a RPG spin off and not even translating some of the newer Valkyria Chronicles.
Time to sacrifice to the long dormant god of SRPGs again. SEGA... why are you being so good to me right now, it's kinda scary. Man... words cant describe how happy i'm for this series mainline to continue, considering the theme seems to be winter this time around, wonder if they ll be taking inspirations from the eastern fronts during WW1 and WW2 which is literally hell compare to the fairly civilized western front during the 2nd world war.

Loving the uniforms dem girls are using, a good mix of practicality and design flair . Judging by the gear, i guess the blondie is a grenadier?
Seems like they are making the grenadiers/mortar a separate class tree as opposed to the previous VC3 which had them as subclass and armored tech is gone. Hopefully they didn't fully removed it but trim it down and merge it with one of the main classes.

IMO having too many classes is detrimental to the gameplay (which was particularly true for VC2 with that stupid merit system). Armored techs were not reeeeaaally necessary, shocktroopers can deal all the required damage, support fire and even take out tanks with a destruction command.

Having additional classes is mostly all about flavoring though too many makes the game unwieldy and usually they start overlapping too much in terms of role.
Armored Tech was alright, I had good success with them due to their tanky nature and ability to go where tanks can't. I remembered having one most of the time in my general purpose team. They still kept to the 6 main classes so i dont think they are trimming down. Removal of the AT main class might be them going to de-emphasis the melee part ?

I think it's to put some sort of realism into the game.
Is there even a battalion that actually use sword & board during WW2? Carrying a shield thats able to block shots must be already heavy enough. They must either be carry a side-arm or lugging the shield around only. Aside from the special valkyria powers... they will still fire shots from their lances rather than going up close and slash or thrust rather aside from cutscenes. |

Given that this is SEGA EU doing the dub, aka the ones who did the Steam version of Valkyria Chronicles, I'm confident that we'll have a subtitled Japanese option for this game.
