Hahaha! Oh Wow! If true.
This along with Sony rumors flying around about implementing similar feature clearly show that both are doing everything in their power to get me not to buy their consoles! I can see it, in few years we will all taking about the "good ol' days" were could actually own the things we brought and we didn't need internet to make them work. But, hey I guess at least you Kinect fans will be happy. =/ |

All I know is that if the no used game thing happens, I'll be doing a lot of replaying instead of buying new games. While I don't buy many used games, it is nice to be able to move out games I'll never play again. Not much of a market if people can't use them.

This is just like "let's outlaw VCR recorders so that people can't rewatch shows for free" back, man, I don't even remember how long. Microsoft is from the same country that mess happened in, I thought they'd know better. Whatev, hope this results in some sort of boycott if it turns out true. Also, poo on needing an internet connection to play a damn game you have a physical copy for. What if your internet is game system phobic like mine?! These are all just rumors as of now. I'd usually hesitate to completely trust a news source that spends most of its time intruding on the privacy of the rich and famous and having epiphanies every time one of them goes to the beach or grocery store or, you know, actually acts like a human being like the rest of us. But the non-paparazzi crap I've seen there tends to be true, so they're not a completely doo source. Last edited by Kudryavka; 2013-02-10 at 14:45. |

I like buy 99% of my games new so while it is bullshit it's not a deal breaker as long as I don't have to download them all.
Always online is a deal breaker... Also lol @ wii u's online system, your wii u bites the dust so dies everything you bought digital. |

Though to be fair, all of the download services I've dealt with allow you to redownload purchased games for free. When my Wii got wiped for repairs, I redownloaded all my VC content for free. |

Nevertheless both systems have pro and contra arguments. In case an account bound system like steam, everything is tied to you, so can't really resell it. Machine bound content, like you pointed out in your post, if the machine dies you have to go through customer services and some do operate like insurance companies, trying to to say they cannot help you, so you have to escalate your claims/issues. On the other hand reselling your machine should have a higher value, because of the content locked to it. In any case both systems are rubbish and not very consumer friendly at all. |

No matter how you slice it Nintendo's DRM is pathetic, that along with region locking piss me off way more than a hit to used games. Like I said I buy 99% of mine brand new (and at good prices) so it wouldn't affect me. I've had to repair a ps3, I can't play fire emblem 3ds right now, I'm still waiting for persona arena...
Always online sucks too. |

Wouldn't affect me since I rarely resale games, probably because I finish f all of them lol, you don't want to see my backlog...
Still I don't think sony will do it, the Japanese rental market is massive and thus would hurt the ps4 over their. Wii U is vulnerable ATM, Nintendo fans keep pointing to the same games, yet these were also on the n64 and GameCube. Wii took Japan because of motion controls being a hook, wii sports and wii fit, it just made strong Nintendo games stronger. Then again consoles are looking in bad shape in Japan compared to handhelds, lol @ vitas sixth week being better compared to the Wii u. So Sony might say who cares... |
