Vena, I agree on your assessment of zessica.

she really is cute and her tsundere is not as bad bad case as most tsundere's in animes. heck neither mikono or zessica are as bad of tsndere as silvia was. i mostly get the feeling zessica is more like a pet, a cat like her description says. also when the ending song from the first aquarion tv series started playing, i started thinking if she was apollonius's pet dog in the TV series or OVA dragon that could fly or something.
but that would really be bad if zessica were reduced to pet status. however she really hardly denied that she had any interest in amata to clear the misunderstanding in the end only makes me think something will surely happen between amata and zessica just cause they are so funny together.

1. SHRAAAAAADE!!! *O*)/ GJ Sazanka XDDD I hope we'll get to see him and Cayenne sitting next to each other, with Sazanka providing the pink fluffy romantic backdrop.

2. Ohh, the sparks between Andy and Mix. Also, Andy, my boy - you need to get laid. XD

3. So Jin is the "last child" of Altair? (I wonder what does that make Kagura? So he's older than Jin but going by looks not a whole lot older...) I wonder if this means he's in a similar position to Futaba..
Also, this was the second time Jin quoted from Go Tight! XD Zettai zetsumei abisetai~

4. lol they finally had enough of Kagura's hijinks and put him in the doghouse. XD

5. Zessica pretending she's like totally there by coincidence but she'll do a favor to Amata and walk him home. XDDD Oh Zessica, why so cute?

6. Amata and Zessica freaking out XDDDDD Amata floating at everything is hilarious (sorry, Amata XD). Btw in the classroom he apparently reacted to Zessica turning on the charm, because here Zessica was pretty much plastered to him and he didn't float at all until Yunoha appeared and scared him.

7. Mikono being jealous. XD Aww... I don't know why people begrudge her this. I wouldn't be happy either if I saw the boy I liked and who obviously liked me back, in the middle of the night with another girl's face in his crotch.

8. Yunoha.

That's all. XDDDDD

9. Oh Amata. Amata. XDDD

I hope Mikono and Zessica will be friends now that the misunderstanding has been cleared up, and Mikono realized that Amata will, in fact, float at everything. XD Zessica is the sort of friend Mikono needs.

Btw it's nice seeing both Amata and Mikono coming out of their shell. Amata seems much more confident now than in the earlier episodes, and Mikono is more open than she used to be - instead of withdrawing and blaming herself like she would've done earlier, now she actually expressed her anger.

Yunoha made it to the ED, congrats to her! (I guess this means no pretty Mykage art in the ED... ). And there was a little extra in the OP as well.

Awesome episode was awesome... eagerly awaiting the subs so those of us who don't understand moon speak don't miss the nuances. Seven episodes in and we sink our first shipping boat?

Nice chunk of character growth though, it's nice to see more character added to Zessica and Amata and Mikono being further developed is a good thing.

Zess's had some pretty standard trope tsundere moments this episode: (claiming) coincidence, denying being scared by putting on a hard act, shift tug, but she's certainly not the classic-type tsundere like Silvia (Mix is the only one who'd ever fit into this, really, but she's yet to start showing any soft sides with Andy... Big Bang!). Meanwhile Mikono plays, again, the role of the clingy jealous girl but now we see that she's thinking of Kagura at least in a passing thought while talking with her cat. (The triangles, I felt, were getting laid out in this episode.) I'd be very surprised if they didn't do something with all of this, because the show keeps making those three (Amata/Mikono/Zess) interact and get into misunderstandings. It'd be a wasted dynamic that they seem to keep pushing, and Zess dismissed the misunderstanding by saying she was panicked and nothing else. (Unless I've forgotten a line, I just went to play some hoops, and my head is a little light headed as is my memory, remind me if I've forgotten.)

That Altair has no women that can bear children, or women at all. Makes their kidnapping people a bit more relate-able, all things considered.

Well, the illustration is less fangasmic but it is more representative of their actual relationship in the show (though they've gone from butterfly mind rape to driving together now, so I don't know about that myself 8DD), and the staff don't have to play it safe by pretending it's all Sazanka's imagination.

Managed to catch a few more things after a rewatch - I'll join in what some of you have said, the character development is much appreciated.

Mikono's assertiveness, her dialogue towards Zessica being that of a friend now, aaaand Zessica's growing attachment to Amata... they're all flowing pretty naturally. The current situation is definitely not your usual painful love triangle, and I'm all the more looking forward to episode 8 now.

I also picked up that it was Cayenne and Shrade's first time sitting next to each other -- Cayenne: "Yeah, the first and the last time." Errrr, yeah, too bad. Blame Sazanka's luck when she drew for you, supported by the goddess of BL. By the way, that red convertible is still making me laugh... why'd he even have that sort of car!

Oh. Ooooh~ Actually I think I like this more than the previous one, it's just more... intimate? I mean Cayenne doesn't even look particularly angry. I hope someone will scan it... (It's ridiculous, it's such blatant pandering and yet I eat it up with a spoon. XD Oh, but they look so good together.)

The entire car scene made me laugh so much. "I'm glad you came to pick me up." "I didn't come to pick you up, I just happened to be looking for Abductors!!" XDDD I'd love to think he was being tsundere, and apparently Shrade picked up on it, too, at least I can't think of any other way to interpret that "oh what an ugly dissonance... just joking" line. XDDD

i think sharde and cayenne are most definitely reika and sirius along with some silvia mixed in there for cayenne.

is there any reason amata has dropped any honorifics in regards to zessica? he certainly does't see her as just a guy, right?

Considering Andy's fascination with the Big Bang! we may end up with a one-sided ship... but I can't really see the Andy x Yunoha ship getting much traction considering how young she looks / acts. But hey, time will tell.

Shy, insecure girl with Andy's character type works just as well as with Mix's, so who knows... I'll agree that the tip of the ship's still there.

Wonder if Alicia sang that song in the Skies of Aquarion movie somewhere, or maybe it's a song she sung somewhere else? Jin does seem to be a fan of her. Honestly I wouldn't mind an updated version of either OP from the OS being in the show.

Macross F did it as well though, so who knows. Could just be the staff being clever and having fun.

Finally got a chance to catch ep 7 (such a slowpoke). Man was this episode well done. Even the trope-heavy stuff was done in ways that felt novel and fresh (conforming to tropes but not limited by them)?

Are donuts, rings, and other things with holes in the middle going to be a thing, now? I think so.

I'd seen a gag image with Yunoha's frog touching Amata and sending him flying, and it seems like that gag was too funny not to use.

Why does Amata always get stuck with cleaning duty? Bad karma, maybe? This show is such a mix of fabulous stupidity and careful planning I wonder if it's more then just a gag? It doesn't help when MIX's catchphrase seems to be "defiled!".

And yeah, we got heavy-duty Zessica development. I think the way she acts out around Amata and Mikono isn't a coincidence (even if she doesn't get it yet). It's not like we've seen her act out the same way beforehand. Is this love, that she's feeling?

After this episode I can kinda see something like this playing out: Zessica and Mikono will be fledgling buddies (really each others' only friends, it seems). Mikono will talk about Kagura with Zessica -- really, who else could she talk to -- and then Zessica will let Amata in on it before Mikono's had a chance to tell him herself. For maximum drama, have Amata bring it up while he and Mikono are on a big date.

I could definitely see Andy becoming buddies with Yunoha

Zessica doesnt seem to be too found of andy. For some reason their dynamics reminds me of silvia and pierre. Pierre's lol line that went something like "she keeps saying no, but its probably a yes"
Its like all the characters are mixed of 2 or more souls from previous series.

It's reflecting lasers off the balls it placed in the air. 放置 I'm unsure about, but it's a phonetic match and 放置される seems to be set phrase a way to convey the idea of "left unattended" (although my dictionary indicates 放置する is more "leave unattended" in the sense of "neglect", hence the uncertainty). "Placed" sounds pretty lame but not sure what else to use. Don't recall ever seeing that word before this show, and could've misheard it anyways.

I think some of the characters are featured in the Ed sequence if they play a significant role in the episode (sans MIX for some reason; I think she's appeared in every episode's ED sequence even though she hasn't been the focus of the episode.

I think if the important character get his or her focus episode, he/she will finally appear on the ED sequence. Amata, Mikono, Zessica, and Kagura are understandable they appear since the episode 3, but I wonder why Andy and Mix already have their art too, especially Mix...

I'm just going to call them Mirror Balls and Mirror Ball attack! Otherwise the translation is mind-numbing: Stationary (...is how I would translate 放置, a bit loosely I admit, but otherwise it really makes no sense trying to turn it directly into English because it'd read like Neglected ->) Laser Reflection Sky Balls. Mirror Balls suffices and conveys the point in two words, perhaps Mirror Sky Balls would be most descriptive.

Yeah, all I have to add is that of all the times I've paused a show to get the dictionary out and look stuff up, this has to be amongst the most disappointing. I thought there might be more to what Suomi was saying b/c of how much planning Jin'd put with the simulations, etc., but nope! She's just narrating exactly what's happening on-screen (and flavorlessly, I might add). What a let-down.

Mirror balls is certainly a more stylish way to put it, but c'mon, in the end it wasn't really that effective, was it?

The ED animation first showed itself in ep3... and this was the order of the characters, and what was swapped in.

Amata > Mikono > Hill w/ Crosses (Swapped to Cayenne) > Piano (Swapped to Shrade) > Mix > Andy > Book (possibly NOT a placeholder as it's animated) > Zessica > Candles (Swapped to Yunoha) > Alicia > Kagura

Spoilered for image spam... x10 actually >_<;; I'm guessing we're done with new characters as there aren't really any placeholders left (other than the animated book). Pity, Sazanka could look snazzy in that art style.
