Here are some of my thoughts of the EP4 manga:
The manga didn't stay true to the order of the VN. It skipped the part where Ange-Beatrice and Bernkastel were speaking while watching her family go to Rokkenjima and she's powerless to stop them, as well as the part with Meta-Battler and Beato where Ange-Beatrice comes in and tells Battler to fight seriously, and that "There's certainly... someone waiting for you to go home... so for that person's sake..." Maybe the mangaka's just saving the Meta-World scenes for later? Since the above is regarding the witch Ange-Beatrice while currently they're the scenes of Ange from 1998 (and before). In Episode 4, you can read it as 3 worlds - the world of the 4th Game Board (1986, where everyone goes to Rokkenjima and only Battler survives, and gets killed later on), the world of the future of the 3rd Game Board (1998, where Ange is all alone, Eva has just died), and the Meta World (Where Battler, Beato and their guest Ange-Beatrice play their game) I didn't really like the additional stuff about Ange, though. For one thing, her classmates NEVER bullied her to such an extent, just usually ignored her as they found her 'gloomy' and 'uncooperative'. And her obsession with "Battler Onii-chan" is way beyond ridiculous. Does she even care about her parents at all? She only mourns about the death of her awesome awesome fun fun big bro? And ignores all the bullying but cries and screams when someone tries to touch her hair ornaments? In the SN and the anime, her classmates actually pulled at her hair too, and the stuff fell off, but she just picked it up again and continues to act emo. Sure, in the SN Ange really does like her onii-chan, but ALSO her mom, her dad, Maria and everyone else (maybe not Eva). Here her obsession just grows ridiculous. I prefer the interaction between Ange(-Beatrice) and (Meta-)Battler in Ep4's SN, where she treats him harshly for not fighting seriously and tells him to stop playing around, but you can still see that she truly loves her big brother- AS A BROTHER. In this manga her obsession goes way beyond sibling love. My guess is that this mangaka likes Battler x Ange. Last edited by Kirroha; 2010-01-05 at 05:12. Reason: Spelling mistake. |

Emily is the one in charge of episode 3 and she's still having her vacations, so we need to wait a little more XD
For episode 4, we like to work using gq raws, and mangahelpers aren't that good, so if someone have it, please, send me links by mp....

Next chapter of Ep. 4. We're still focusing on Ange and Amakusa with no sign of 1986 in sight. On the bright side, shots of Beato appear several times.

I should adimit that we're quite slow with episode 3, but the chineses are fast too, and that's a fact @_@
Also, Emily is the translator of episode 3, and she just moved to Japan, so she's still trying to solve her problems and get an internet conection, i can assure it, she's sending me regular e-mails about it and I can say that I never saw someone fighting so much to get internet >XD Also, we're not too desperate to translate episode 3 as we're doing with episode 1 and 2, because I've noticed that there's lots of people who're waiting for us to finish episode 1 to start read episode 2, episode 2 to start episode 3, and etc Why we're translating episode 4 so far then? Ace-san is the episode 4 translator and he's a fan of this episode, and he's faster than the chineses, that's it. I would like to ask him to translate episode 3, but he's already translating episodes 2, 4, x and two higurashi arcs So, yes, we're going to translate episode 3. When? Wait for Emily to finish her personal business, or we to catch episode 2 last release and then Ace-san can jump for episode 3, or, if someone wants to help us translating this chapter until Emily-chan can work normally again, it would be awesome too =]
