Western Light Novels

There's this question roaming my head... Does anyone here know of Western-style Light Novels?
I know I could use the term Original English Light Novels, but there may be such stories not in english language.
And, this time, I'm not counting Chinese or Korean Novels of that kind, since I know there's a nice bunch of them.

That would be just novels, or novels inspired by anime and japanese animanga, visual novels and stuff like that, internet original creations and fanfic might count too.

Light novels are that..just novels

Would you be interested in anime-esque webtoons? If so then I recommend Boyfriend of the Dead and Hooky.

I've already been there, in the OELNs page, but the list is short.
Did you read the OP? I'm asking for Western Novels inspired by LNs, not LNs themselves.

It was properly inferred, unless it could be read another way.
I meant Novels written in the West inspired by Light Novels.

Did Player one Start count? the novel seems massively inspired by .hack and SAO/accel world franchises, still that is just novels as i commented before or internet based original stories in Fiction press and other internet forum like spacebattles and sufficient velolcity

Err... I'm not certain what you are asking for. Light Novels are a type of media, referring to relatively short novels written quickly for popular audiences, usually published directly to paperback.

But you and others in this thread are talking about Light Novels as if they were some type of genre.

If you want the equivalent western media, that would be what is commonly called "Pulp Fiction" (because they were printed on the cheapest paper - pulp) or "Dime-back Novels" (since they were usually sold for a dime).

This included a lot of detective, action/adventure, and sci-fi genre. But the biggest genre for "Western Light Novels" were American Westerns.

Loius L'Amour for example was one of the most prolific authors of the media, and one of the most successful.

You might try his dime novels such as:

Sackett
Tucker
Flint

One of his latter short novels that I think could easily fit into a lot of Light Novel tropes would be "To Ride The River" since it was one of the few stories in that genre that had a female protagonist.

I guess I really am not expressing myself the best way, sorry for that.

Maybe more than Pulp Fiction, you could say Young Adult Novels also fit your perception of Western version of LNs.
But that's not what I'm looking for in here.

I know there are people out there writing stories, inspired by Light Novels. I was trying to find those.

Are you looking for stories set in specific Light Novel universes? In other words, fanfiction based on existing Light Novels??

Not fanfiction, those rarely interest me. Rather, original stories written by western authors, inspired by Anime, LNs or even both.

Only one I've ever heard of was something called "American Kitsune" or something like that, a comedy centered on a guy who blamed his social problems on having spent too much time watching rom-com anime or something like that, mixed with of course a fox demon and a bunch of other ladies. I never read it, but it came up once or twice in my Kindle recommendations.
