During Aceh Conflict years ago, my relative who work as soldier got shot twice, and indeed the rifle bullet that pierced through (it was a close range combat after all) while pistol round is stopped. The bullet in question are 223 Remington and 9mm Parabellum respectively.
@ Eras Canon or Fanon?

@ Eras
Impact cannon is recoiless (though by theory, they're FAR from recoiless, after all, they spew compressed air like crazy ) Another kind of ranged weapons... hmm...anyway... Ichika seems to be idealistic enough not to let people in trouble (such as Rin's and Charl's case), otherwise, he tend to ignore some people because it bothers him to even care (such as Cecilia)

Senpai - .....Just realized something: Wouldn't Ichika get in trouble for using his IS for fighting normal people? Sure, he did it to save Cecilia, but most governments would probably ignore that Add to the fact that the hospital collapsing would most likely be blamed on him for some reason.

@ Senpai - I didn't mean disrespect as an individual. Truth be told, they probably feel really grateful. I imagine they can't show it since they're in a technical arms race and the Japanese government (This isn't the same one from our world, after all.) could use any gratefulness they have to their disadvantage.

Well currently, Shenlong is a bulky melee tanker type but it has been shown to be consistently beat down except for when the author needed to show exactly how much of a nub Ichika still is *coughV5openingcough*. Then I thought about the impact cannons, something about them seemed familiar. Then I retraced kung fu and eastern martial arts and realized why it was so familiar.
Void Fist. Impact cannon reminded me of void fist which is basically hitting people with air pressure or "ki". So then I thought "Why not just put it on shenlong's arms and legs?" :| 2nd shift for shenlong would then entail that within the streamlined layers of armor, there is a small space where ultra-high pressure air is being kept, that or just in bracelets or anklets on the arms and legs. this allows for multiple functions like void fist, Bruce Lee's one inch punch(shenanigan), instant acceleration and powerful jumps. I'm even contemplating if the multiple cannons can interact with each other on their air pressurization for one massive explosion(kamehameha anyone?). Combined with more streamlined armor, it allows for kung-fu moves to be applied more easily and with more power D: |

That does makes sense, maybe they're fearing about the same stuff as Mondo Grosso Incident years ago.
Then again, Japanese Government would be in turmoil anyway, since each and every country use this to their advantage somehow. Going to sleep. @ Demi I don't know why but that concept doesn't seem to fit. I'll read about it properly tomorrow when I can give a straight answer. :| My impression is that impact cannon requires an armored chamber, the reason it's so bulky.
