I admit I didn't read daydream most of the time, but the one I read is high quality stuff, better than Canon sometimes (currently reading it for Shipping inspiration)

No... it doesn't work like tenctacles. The cables really are used for pulling back to knives and whatever they are lodged in. Can be used as a sort of grappling hook. Also strong enough to be used as bindings and whip.

But not tentacles

What I think when you said wires is similar to ninja wires from Naruto, it's thin, extremely high tensile strength, but can be cut easily. And yes, can be used to retrieve and even control weapon (before much cooler chakra wire is introduced). And it's definitely not good as whip...

Probably a personal preference, I myself not into slapstick most of the time, but includes it anyway.

well ninja wire seems to be the better choice in this case since anything else would be too cumbersome. The winch drums can't be too big so each knife probably has 10 meters at best? or can I go longer?

Ninja wire can go longer, MUCH longer. Probably around 50 meter, with the wire drum about 1.5 inch in diameter.

EDIT: just how thick is that string anyway? non-existent? O.o not to mention what is it's elasticity and tensile strength?

@ Senpai - The suit had to be modified to keep it from killing him. Irish can't even take it off anymore. Blessed with suck or Cursed with Awesome?

Side note - The IS may look cool, but they're way darker than that thing.

Considering this is I.S. we can get away with something different, here's my take on it.

The wire is about half-millimeter thick, is made of metapolymer and has tensile strength way higher than any traditional metal, almost to the level of carbon nanotube, but far more flexible. It's really hard to break it by pull strength alone, but can be cut easily by I.S. vibroblade or beam saber.

@zero: sounds cool to me.

I was also wondering if it would be good to have a field assemble rifle. The parts can be put together by hand on the field but each part can be used individually... to a certain extent

As fast as you want, really, just not make it 'regenerate lost limb from nothing', remember the supply-demand rules.

No, but after fight recovery is much, much easier (because they have to fight and move constantly)

I don't know how that works really. When I was talking about energy weapon, I mean like Strike Freedom's beam rifle. But you know engineering better than me anyway

I do know a bit about engineering... I just tend to ignore it a lot

BFS that is actually a long barrel with a huge bayonet on it; and a BFG which is small enough to engage in mid-range combat.

Would it be impossible to have these weapons legally installed in the academy IS?
