Remember that it's not just Touma's right hand that's letting him win. Touma has been racking up tons of fighting experience. Index started on July 19th, and the date that this arc took place should be around September 26th. In that short span of time, Touma went up against Mikoto (who knows how many times she's demanded a fight from him before Index even started), Stiyl, Kanzaki, Pendex, Aureolus, Accelerator, Tsuchimikado, Ouma, Sherry, Saiji and the Amakusa Catholics, Agnese and 250 battle nuns, Oriana (three times), and Biagio so far (if I remember correctly), and since he was an excellent street fighter from the beginning then he's probably taken down quite a few other people before then. He actually uses his head in battle to form strategies to beat his enemies, even though the anime may not always show it, and has both sharp instincts and fast reflexes to boot. That's not to say I'm not tired of Touma always preaching and punching, but I thought I'd give a little justification as to why this is. And if you've seen the end of the episode, there WAS an order from the RCC to investigate Touma and eliminate him if deemed a threat. The problem with trying to investigate him fully is that it would probably risk clashing directly with Academy City itself. There's already a lot of tensions rising because of the events in the second season, and I suppose that the RCC tried to put it off until Touma became so much of an obstacle to them that he could not be ignored.

Secondly, we do not know the details behind that attack, so how can you say whether there wasn't any problem or not? Quote:
Btw, I can point out that Stiyl and Amakusa stole Touma's spotlight with the giant flaming golem and Accelerator stole his spotlight beating up Awaki before he gotten there. (That said, I may not be following Bleach anymore, but I clearly recall that the other characters each have their own little fights that they can settle just fine without him. Also, what Bleach and other shounen series have that toaru don't? Wasted named characters that serve as folders. You know those kind, just to make the others look busy.) Secondly, Up to this point none of the incident has been meant to target Touma, I won't be surprise if only very recently they even heard of his name let alone can begin to understand his power.

>> It is also evident that you have not watched the Second Season based on how you judged Touma's current success. He was almost defeated by Oriana, who knew how to defend herself without magic, and is currently the only one to bring him to defeat aside from Aureolus in the magic side. Meanwhile, other characters do not have the absolute protection of the Imagine Breaker, so they have to use their abilities to fight, even risking being killed in the process. >> Imagine Breaker is a power that interests Aleister and baffles the entire magic side, even the bigwigs from the Roman Catholic Church. It is merely the nature of the Imagine Breaker, so it's useless to discuss about its origins, especially because the plot has not finished.

They just did their counter attack. "Investigate Kamijou Touma and if he's a threat kill him." Gods right seat or Right hand of god. Watever they are called now. An organization that has the bad assness to threaten the pope. Last edited by Klashikari; 2011-01-30 at 21:03. Reason: let's drop this. |

I often question why the when there is a fight if 1 person is talking why that prevents the other side from attacking. Besides the obvious answer in that it allows the plot to develop, I imagine when Touma is fighting someone they hear his speech and are probably like O.o, which to me, i this series, at least make it more realistic and make sense. XD

so, the battle nuns aren't combat specialists now? what about the saints? god's right seat??
RCC, like all other major magic organizations, is full of combat specialists. They're all magicians, but still, to kill Touma, they only have to sic a saint on him....and unless Kaori's around, he'd be screwed.... |

Touma's preaching drills into their souls.
Or realistically, since Touma's full attention is diverted towards the person he's preaching to, there isn't really any way they can sneak attack him unless an attack comes from behind?

Spoiler for GRS:
Anyway, I never mentioned this before but Anyone notice the forums on MyAnimeList for index are full of haters who dont get the story. I still get the "i love how touma could use imagine breaker on this ship but not the last ones" Its pretty stupid when index explained it in a sentence. Also, dont know about anyone else but i am kinda worried about this next arc. Animation this season was "not at its best" in the dahaisesai arc and this episode( but i just ignored.) Now i hear guesses like "maybe the animation was devoted to this arc, which would make sense but what if we are wrong. |

I'll try to calm myself this time.
Isn't Agnese Sanctis part of the military forces of the Roman Catholic Church? Also, I have no qualms with the animation quality. Or maybe I'm just that easy to please.

After i've watched ep16,
I still don't get it at the end. To me that why is Touma always being ended up in a hospital bed once again after we've seen that all the time on every episodes arc (at the end of EP5, EP7 and even EP13). Last edited by Jeffry2009; 2011-02-01 at 07:56. |

Well, after seeing the episode, I'd have to say that it was pretty good.
+Being able to condense Index's speech about how come this ship is affected to one sentence. + Awesome running scenes. + Touma getting serious and have a minute long fight with few interruptions. + Agnese defending Orsola and others. + Kanazaki in fallen ero-maid uniform. I might be a girl, but even I can appreciate that look, especially since I could never pull it off myself + Agnese being referred to as luggage. However: - Touma, hit Biago already and preach after a few moments. - Orsola, you fail spectacularly at using that wand. - Index... you disappeared, and reappeared at the end. Really need to remove you as the main heroine. In all, a pretty good episode. Now is everyone ready for the punishment game? |

Touma is an unlucky guy after all, even if it leads to flagging routes and building a harem in the meantime.
Physical misfortune -> Injuries Economic misfortune -> Freeloader Academic misfortune -> Labelled as Level 0, forgetting his homework after losing his memories, etc |

his poor lifestyle wouldn't explain his hospital bill. It exceeds the limit that a supposedly single person living in a dorms allowance to be paid.
Remember his parents doesn't know he had a freeloader in his dorm.

I don't remember a hospital this episode... but then again, all I remember is an angel maid.
