Episode 1:
I'll admit, this was fun even though the characters are a bit generic with the school setting. I felt kinda bad for Tendou since it did seem like she got rejected by Amano when asked to join the Gamer's Club. Hopefully this show will develop their relationship more. Visually, it looked alright although there are some QUALITY scenes. Seems like a fun show so far. Oh I want to know more about that girl playing the fighting video game.

Wow videogame references all over the place, also Amano was playing GBF. Cygames eat your heart out.
I totally understand Amano though, cooperative is okay but I'm not much for competitive gaming either, I prefer playing at my own pace and style.

Man, I hate Tendou's character so much. I really hate the whole 'school idol who is really a nerd' heroine, and Tendou checks every box that ticks me off about it. Even Kanemoto can't save her character for me.
If I wanted some wish-fulfillment, I'd rather watch the MC get it on with other gamer girls who actually looks like a gamer girl. You know, someone like MONO?

It's funny that it is airing at the same time as Nana Maru San Batsu, considering that one plays the "pretty girl invites loner to the wacky club" straight.

And when she tried to recruit him there, she was doing it in a half-pissed off fashion, rather the grabbing hands enthusiast way. And from her words, you can tell she actually looks down on him a little, though some of that at the end was her being tsun. The anime also cut some of the lines disparaging social games. |

Game cameos: your typical mahjong game, Granblue Fantasy, Blazblue? and CS:GO.
Hmm, I feel that there's something more complicated about Karen's eagerness to bring Keita into the club. Karen doesn't seem to be a full-on gamer herself, but she wanted to build a community of gamers into the club. I wonder if it's related to the falling out of the former members when she joined the club. As for Keita, I totally understand his position as a gamer. Gaming communities that rely on cooperation and competitive mindsets tend to sap the fun away from a game, and sometimes the only way to enjoy games like these is to stay within a casual environment. And I think Keita has Mono, his own reason for playing that mobage. Since it's one episode, I can't build a strong impression on the show yet, especially with the cast assembly taking up much of the episode. One thing I can say though, is that this show is no Netoge.

Didn't he say that he only likes to play games for enjoyment value, not for competition?
That's the very reason why the game club didn't click to him; CS:GO and Guilty Gear kinda requires some other person to be played properly, while all he prefers are mobile games where player interaction is optional and visual novels that are played solo.
