I will watch the show till the end, of course, we have what only 2 eps left, but it will be more for just the formality sake of finishing it and it won't get any love from me anymore. Besides, it will be even more ridiculous if Mika survives after this which he probably will now. You killed the wrong protag, show.

That's more or less my reaction when I went further and further into Victory Gundam and approaching the end of the series. It's pretty much killing likable characters left and right and keep holding on to the annoying villains .

Anyway, unexpected indeed. Then again, people already predicted Mika, Orga or both being on the writers' crosshairs.

The funny thing is, if you go to sites & forums that talked about IBO episode 1 when it aired, many people have already predicted Orga's demise since day one because people saw too much Kamina in him .

It seemed right back at the beginning, to me, as well, because it could force Mika to grow and change when the whole s1 was still ahead and he could become anything he wanted (and Kamina died pretty early on, too, for the same purpose), but the same trick feels completely wrong and forced now, after Mika's character has been solidified for 2 seasons now. It's simply too super damn late and feels like they want us to pretend these 2 seasons didn't happen. Well, no can do.

In other words, the writing really dropped the ball, if I had to pinpoint where, it started showing I guess about the beginning of the GH arc, and it's culminating in the 2 latest episodes, going downhill fast and becoming a bona fine trainwreck. They probably tried too hard.

Anyway hey producers I expected a better send-off for Orga?! Why'd you make him die out there in cold blood, along with a couple of damn epiphanies about being the boss of Tekkadan and his duty to protect his comrades, so cliche

It's not over yet so there's still time for that theory to prove itself. Besides, did McGillis really went out on his own only to get a fancy new jacket?

It opens up for some nice Bael versus Lupus Rex action later on as well. McGillis would probably savor that fate willingly, befitting that himself be crushed by the true form of power he envisioned that will change the world.

Given Mika's preview. That is whats gonna happen. So Tekkadan now is put to the test as they have to prove that they can take the burden.

That could be possible, I mean, Rustal couldn't/didn't expect them to be able to escape in any form(at least, he gave no indication of it), so its quite possible McGillis to have leaked some info of their plans(else, how'd they know to target the Admoss Company after Rustal already cut the necessary links between it and Tekkadan?).

Also, I'm kinda against the whole "better send-off" for Orga =01. Really I dislike grandiose fanfare when a big character dies. This is a war; and, like any war, most deaths don't come with 'big moments' and dramatic scenes; one moment you live, the next, you're dead. It still had the dramatic scene, it was a nice change of pace to have him killed off in a simplistic fashion, but at the same time, I kinda feel like tdx and think this was done simply to stir Mika into a particular direction that is unnecessary at this point of the story(practically its end). Not that it bothers me too much, but I do get a "forced" feeling from it all.
