My guess would be they are both child of Ledo and Amy. So the daughter takes after her father while the son inherits the free-spirited personality of the mother.

I only see a raw. There are a number of subs for OVA1, but none so far for OVA2. Maybe our Japanese-speaking friends can answer your question.

Well, it says "Suisei no Gargantia Meguru Kouro, Haruka - 02 OVA" and was uploaded on April 7th. I'm getting a copy now to see if it's different from the first instalment.

Well I just watched a Chinese sub so I can provide a summary:

Spoiler for Meguru Kouro, Haruka OVA2:

Ledo recovered some data from that ship, an old weapon made on Earth before the makers headed to space - and it matches the combat mecha hidden by Leema. Turns out Leema is leading a team of 3 from a country from the great land, and is trying to recruit Ledo who they believe can get the mecha to work. Leema tell her guys Ledo can't be forced to co-operate, but they are getting restless for making no progress for so long. They also mentioned their original plan was to capture Striker's pilot.

Gargantia is getting low on resource due to all the new population so they head for the big trading place for some trading and R&R. Ridget tells others to gather intel if the great land countries are gathering resources, while Lukkage do a bit of that on her own. Leema mentioned she has an older brother. Ridget received a gift - an up-to-date map of political powers, and we found out she can't handle alcohol.

Leema tries to get Ledo and Amy to leave Gargantia and move to her country - she knows Ledo will not leave without Amy. She also promised that her country can cure Bevel. Of course they can't decide to leave easily.

After Gargantia leave port, they were approached by a fleet of combat ships from Leema's home country. Her men act of their own and kidnapped Amy to try to capture Ledo and complete their mission. But they are too late - their country already decided to destroy the weapon instead of risking it captured by their enemy. The mecha moved on it's own when the ships start shooting to try to destroy it. Leema confess to Ledo she no longer want to get Ledo involved in their war that lasted hundred of years. They get into the cockpit - Chamber lights up and enhanced the mecha. Lukkage join the fight and tell her crew they are leaving and going back to be pirate. Ledo pilots the mecha, disabled a bunch of ship and rescued Amy. The mecha was hit and Leema founds out she can't pilot it like Ledo. It got critically hit, sink into the ocean and finally have a little talk with Leema before ejecting her to safety. Lukkage invite Leema and she decide to join her instead going back to Gargantia.

Interesting setup for what season 2 could be.

there are subs, they're just a little hard to find

UGH.

So we've been waiting for a decent sub of episode 2 for a couple of months now but looks like there's nothing on the internet at all, so I made do with a sub par engrish sub of it that I found on some site.

Without going into spoilers, looks like it expanded the world quite a bit, but apart from that nothing much really happened, and the big cliffhanger at the end of ep1 turned out to be not as exciting as I thought it would be.

I'm very disappointed that s2 was cancelled, but at least episode 2 provided some closure for anime watchers. Looks like that's the last episode we'll ever see.
