Didn't she merely think "How am I supposed to stop it?", followed by a vision of Yuma. If she believed that the vision was of the potential Yuma had to actually defeat it, it makes sense that she'd send Kyuubei out to contract her. However, the vision likely meant (if Yuma does become WN) that she needs to kill this child before she falls in order to stop it.

I don't get how Yuma can become Walpurgis. It wouldn't make sense, mainly because Homura is already a MG. If Homura knew that Yuma was Walpurgis, she'd have made preventing that one of her priorities in future timelines.
Beyond that, the timeframe feels wrong. Consider the events of timeline 1. 1. A week before school. 2. Homura is well enough to go to school. 3. Has bad day and is saved from Witch. 4. Hears Mami and Madoka say they have to prepare for Walpurgis. 5. Madoka hasn't been a MG very long at all, perhaps a week. 6. Within a few weeks Mami and Madoka die facing Walpurgis, Homura contracts. 7. No Kyouko, or other major characters, in this timeline. It just doesn't add up. I think the bigger question to ask is "why is the Oriko timeline so different from the others?" and "Did Oriko actually see Walpurgis, or did she see something else?"

It can be possible that Oriko timeline is which Homura went through before but doesn't truly involve herself, meaning she didn't encounter them before while the others didn't encounter her. Then it would have to be at least Timeline 4, which none of them had truly met each other during the time. (But then there's another problem. ) Also, does Oriko Manga start in Mitakihara Town like everything else does? |

I think some people are a little too obsessed with Walpurgis Night's identity. We had a few who claimed it was Homura. Then the most recent translated chapter of Kazumi Magica came out and some thought it was Kazumi. Now Oriko Magica scans are out and some people think it's someone in this series.

That's not specifically a problem. It's only a problem when people are quick to point fingers, like some did at Homura and Kazumi. It'll take more than what we have been shown to convince me that this series will explain Walpurgisnacht's origins.

Ah, then I misunderstood. Yeah, I understand the irritation at people jumping at small things that might be connected to Walpurgisnacht. Nonetheless I would like to see its origins, just because it is an immensely interesting enigma in the series. We don't by any means need an explanation and I'm not completely certain we'll get one, but getting one anyway would be nice.

I'm in the same boat as some other people here, I would totally dig it if Oriko showed the origins of Walpurgisnacht, but I don't think its absolutely necessary.
On another note, after thinking about it for a little while, since Oriko seems to take place in a timeline between TL4 and TL5, I can't help but think Oriko is gonna end a bit similarly to the other timelines: Whether all the magical girls will work together in the end or not, everyone except Homura and Madoka is dead, Madoka contracts and defeats Walpurgisnacht and becomes a witch, and we end the manga with Homura looping once again

O God...just read chapter 2, and boy does it remind me of a certain infamous episode...
Spoiler for Chapter 2:
This manga is really dark...

The manga is definitely darker in many aspects than the anime, but I'd say it has many parts that make compensate all that heavy mood. Like the very beginning of that chapter, for example.
I also feel the character interaction in the manga is much better than the anime. I'm seriously expecting this to at least get some OVAs.

I could see Oriko getting a short OVA adaptation. We'll have to see how it all ends first though.
Ah thanks for pointing that out. I probably used that word because I was thinking about the similarity to Mami's death I'll change it to sever.

Spoiler for Our favorite Witch:
I do agreed that Kazumi and Oriko will probably become OVA or Series one day down the line.
