Am I the only one who really liked the ending theme, in which it was generic but don't get the neg rep in it ?
Anyways, it's nice to see Aniplex getting more Crunchyroll titles.

Lots of pararells, not in plot, but the atmosphere and storytelling.
The world building, faction conflicts, all these different agendas floating about yet focusing on the band of boys in search of destiny. Through out the series there's numerous pararells to FMA, and in a good way.
Awesome. Can't wait to see more.

Hopefully they won't treat this like a niche little show like they did Blue Exorcist until Viz picked it up.

I'm not usually a shounen fan, but I thought this was an excellent first episode. Good story well told, with enjoyable characters and a well-created world. The director is Masunari Kouji, who hasn't done a TV anime since ROD the TV. The writer, however, is the very busy Yoshino Hiroyuki (Mai-HiME, Accel World, etc.)

I must admit, however, that part of what hooked me was Aladdin's voice. I just loved it -- and that was before I found out it was done by one of my favorite seiyuus, Ishihara Kaori (Kanna in AnoNatsu, Konoe in NakaImo, and half of the idol group YuiKaori).

As for the ED, I thought it was one of the best of the season so far. Really enjoyed it.

Wow, they changed the pacing quite a lot from the manga but at least they kept the Elizabeth scene.LOL

Alibaba really lost something at that time.

Now that I've seen the true ED, I can say that It's not bad. In fact It's good. They changed the Dungeon compare to the manga. It's now filled with fire. Not not full of spike and trap holes like in the manga.

I think episode 2 is good overall. They changed some things in the dungeon as well, some of the changes were good, others not. I missed the little comical scenes they didn't include, but I guess they wanted to create a certain mood... Someone was wondering what the target audience here was, I think this episode sort of established that this is not really your kid-friendly, disney type of show (and that's soooo not even the worst of it). I'll wait for the subs before saying anything more, my japanese is far from good

I guess the change to make the Amon Dungeon a bit of fiery theme comes from the fact this is the Amon Dungeon.
In retrospect, that makes a lot more sense to be somewhat fire themed.

The ED is standard series of still-frame, with nothing stylish or original.
But seeing the main three together is just so adorable, it doesn't matter.

^ I noticed the animation took a considerable dive this episode. Is that the reason?

More key animators means that they had to hire more people, so that they could finish the episode on time.

Wow, that episode went by very quickly. I was engrossed from start to finish.

Though to be honest I really hope there's more to Aladdin's character than just this. It seems way too much like he can't do anything wrong.

I've read the manga and idk if it's just me, but Alladin always felt more like a plot device than character to me. His character didn't really go anywhere like Alibaba's and I feel like most of the time he's just there to encourage Alibaba to actually do something.

On another note, just watched episode 2 and I'm liking the change of making the dungeon more fire-oriëntated. Too bad they skipped over the x/o part, which was a favourite of mine. Another nitpick would be when Alladin and Alibaba were on the cloth and slowly moving upwards, while Jamil and co. were just staring at them without taking any action. That was just dumb.

The first episode didn't really do anything for me. I will follow the discussion in here for a couple more episodes to figure out if I will drop the series completely or not.

Decent second episode, I really like how they animated the opening of the gate.
