If Kiritsugu allowed Saber to retain any mana (in order to keep her physical existence) after destroying the holy grail, he would be jeopardizing his own life. It would be a fatally foolish thing to do.

Why is that? Rin did it in UBW and it didn't jeopardize her life. I don't see why it would be any different with Kiritsugu, unless he's that inferior a magus to Rin.

Maybe he meant Saber would want to kill or hurt him for destroying the holy grail.

She would have been pretty mad. Remember, he was supposed to have justified all his atrocities in the name of getting the Grail. Without that he's just a guy who killed a bunch of people in dishonorable ways.

Although I don't know if she would've actually done anything. But that's Kiritsugu for you.

Uh, I know that, it's astoundingly obvious. But ApathyEcstasy made it sound as if providing Saber with mana to keep her physical existence would endanger Kiritsugu's life, which is what I was questioning.

But if he actually just meant Saber wanting payback on Kiritsugu, then never mind.

She's a woman, so she basically decided to sacrifice her freedom to live as a queen alongside Saber, so Saber could pretend she was a man. It was all a charade, but Lancelot couldn't control himself.

Well, it's not like they were actually doing anything, they were just pretending to be married. So she actually didn't have a problem with her and Lancelot getting together. But to everybody else, there was the image of the king getting his wife stolen by her leading knight, so actions had to be taken anyway.
