Decent episode. Can't wait for the next one. Not sure if I'm misunderstanding Rika's part at the beginning. Was she sighing at their inability to notice that they were already friends who celebrated a birthday together?

This was an okay episode. Sena was like a rabid dog more than usual with Kobato, which I'm not sure why they did that. It seemed a little much too over the top this time.

This was a Yozora episode, but I'm not sure if it helped her image or not. She did grow a little by the end, thanks to Sena of course, but her scheming and selfish demeanor did not help. And yes, she did the running away and crying this episode when Sena pretty much set her straight (role semi-reversed). Sena was absolutely right in what she said, and she was very mature with authority in that scene. She was not playing any pranks or tried to demean Yozora. She stood up to her and said what needed to be said, something that Kodoka is incapable of doing to anyone besides Kobato.

Btw, what was Rika upset about in the beginning of the episode?

Denial towards realizing that they have friends is my guess. Rika doing Kobato cosplay was funny.

wow omg, yozora continue her quest to being the "worst" first/main girl in a harem anime/LN, and kodaka his quest to be the king of the kings in being the most Dense main Guy in anime/LN/manga, i'm start to believe if a girl declar to him loud he just gonna pretend who not was with him or just ignore, men on the start i really liked this anime, is really fun but that things start to annoyning me too much this was the first herem who i not cheered for the first/main girl, i see sena being 1000000% better than yozora, she is the only character who not progresses or her progress is the worst like she up learn 10% and unlearn 20%, while even yukimura sense have some progress, i'm really start to hate yozora too much, i never see a writer make the main girl being so to annoyning in all my animes/manga harem lifes who i read

in othe hand kodaka dense turn him in one of the worse Mc who i already see, i see he almost like yozora, he even is a lier(he promissed pegasus do not let any one anymore bulling sena but he still keep yozora does all her prankts on sena), wtf this guy, if him dont like any of the girls then why he keep getting along with then?, i'm start to believe who both kodaka and yozora deservs each other due to being so annoyning couple,

well about the chapter
of all kodakas dates this is was the worst i see, she come with that "cloth" and bring him to watch a "porn" movie O.o

yozora being a total selfish only try to write the script only to be close to kodaka and giving very bad roles to the others members and when the group asked her to change the script she even made this worts just to be close to kodaka, omg how this girl still have "fans"?(normally i like the main girls but until now for me is almost impossible to like her character with her very bad personality, serious say me what this girl have good in her personalitly), then sena finally shined and showed to this bitch a few from her own taste, on how is bed being a totally weird.

i give 10 for the fun and for the end.

, well I only noticed one instance of an unusual angle. I'm like, "really? No panties? What's the point?", despite knowing full well the intentions of that angle were.

Yeah, I was certainly impressed with Sena here. She definitely said what needed to be said, and in turn, helped Yozora grow a little. Rather than being impressed by setting her straight, I was more like "It's about time." for Sena to stand up to Yozora for something.

what finalfury said, was my guess as well.

well i say this bit quite twist have yozora run away from meat due to yozora being too stuck on the past with kodaka.

& give now doing movie works seem fine as long they don't do the "C'est si bo~n!" whatever that is?

The dynamics of the main two heroine have been laid bare and it definitely paints a troubling picture for one particular side. This is my opinion on the matter anyhow:

Yozora is so fixated in the past that she never bothers looking into the future. She doesn't want to form bonds deeper than a superficial one, as she said in the episode, yet she seems to want something deeper with Kodaka no matter what, showing just that one moment of hypocrisy in her own belief and being firm about it the rest of the way. If she doesn't change that, she'll end up crashing and burning some day. No man is an island and all that.

Sena, on the other hand, thinks of the past as a learning experience and what's more important to her is the future. What has been done in the past is the past, and she wishes to learn from every mistake she could (not much progress because of her steep preferences and stubbornness in certain things), and while that can be quite positive, it's just a mere outlook. An outlook like that only manages to swerve Sena away from the dark path Yozora is clinging to. In essence, though, Sena has developed in character much more than Yozora did, a kind of parallelism to their outlook because the future is forever changing, adjusting, and strengthening with each action of the present and past (Sena managed to reverse her and Yozora's role in the argument in this episode, right?), while the past stays rooted to what it was since it had become what it was: unchanging.

So in a nutshell: Sena is the future, Yozora is the past.

Final note: I think this Betty & Veronica discussion, to use the TvTrope term for lack of a better one, has been done to death in other threads, but I'll still mention my piece either way as evidenced here.

So Sena in her ignorance dismissed Yozora's past - granted she did not know and did not mean it, but nevertheless it is a stumble - both for herself and Yozora.

It is fine to have a particular outlook in life but takes more maturity to not say what you thought needs to be said, and Sena's lack of maturity comes from her total lack of restriant (not specific to this case). Is it okay to tell a war veteran suffering PTSD, despite your best intentions that 'it's just a war, people die, what's important is now that everything is fine!'? It is not, because you have not been through the same and cannot feel the same emotions. Is it okay to tell victms of child abuse that 'the past is not important, what's important is the future'? It is not, because past is always a part of a person and sometimes makes them who they are.

Extreme examples but Yozora holds the same significance on something trivial from other people's perspective, and unknowingly a line has been crossed.

Selfish is a word that can be applied to just about any character haganai. Sena in her obliviousness to anyone else's feelings, Yozora in her refusal to let go, Kodaka in his denials.

Oh boy. The Sena-Yozora shipping wars are going to start up again. Hopefully though, the material of this episode would result in more subtle, less cliche, more interesting and less blunt arguments being used.

The second war would be between whether Kodaka is being dense, or is merely playing dumb for various reasons.

She's a more classical tsundere (read her text messages if you must, it's not like that I care!) however there's a bit of kuudere in part due to her sadist persaonlity, being a teaser.

There is a very important distinction to be made from the examples you brought up, which is that Yozora was actively using her past to justify the plot of the film instead of passively reminiscing about the past.

I agree that telling a war veteran to ignore the past is not okay, and it is fine to have historical records to remind us about the things that went wrong in the past. But if that war veteran starts going around spreading xenophobia based on past national tensions, then they need to be told that the past is the past and that people have to move on and focus on the future.

In the same way, it is fine for Yozora to reminisce about her past with Kodaka, but when she starts insisting on changing the plot of a film that all the club members voted on, on the basis of her past friendship with Kodaka, then someone had to be firm here and say what needs to be said. I think Sena handled the situation fairly well and did it without malice. Many people would reasonably have done something similar if they were in her position.

It's interesting to see Yozora begin to change a bit. I have to admit I've never liked her character that much, but it's obvious she's broken in some fundamental ways, due to unspecified events in the 10 years after she knew Taka. Would it ever be possible in the future for her to form strong relationships with other people? Up until this episode I would have had a hard time saying "yes".

Kodaka's reaction to Rika's unspecified anger at the beginning of the episode tells us that he is aware that they are all becoming friends at some level. And his apparent "denseness" is likely an act, or at least a a desire to avoid changing things too quickly.

I am a big fan of Rika this season; I really like the way her character is developing.

Wouldn't a cat cafe be incredibly unsanitary to be able to stay in business? They must have some incredibly diligent employees otherwise.

I actually completely mistook Rika for Kobato for a few moments in that scene. It's incredibly uncanny how much she looked like her, aside from her height and a slightly different outfit. I guess you could do that with a lot of anime characters though since not much variety is put into faces.

Sena's right about one thing, people shouldn't dwell on the past so casting roles shouldn't matter whether Yozora and Kodaka were friends 10 years ago or not, however that doesn't mean one should say things that belittle those past events regardless. Those were times the two of them really cherished after all so that's likely why Yozora got so upset, though I'm not sure she believed why they'd be more important than the present.

I found it amusing how hard Kodaka took it when Maria said he wasn't cool. Sure he's very awkward socially and far from badass material, but the guy's built pretty well and has a handsome face, so that's not 100% true if you ask me.

And why were they showing a French movie in a Japanese theater?

Maria is actually hilarious in her blunt remarks about Kodaka. One of the biggest omitted line from the LN was during the bath scene about Yukimura - just before Maria noted he differences, she said somewhere alone the lines:

So this is what it looks like - all the other nuns told me it is scary, but onnichan's looks so gentle!

Sena would never drop that bomb if Yozora didn't mess around. 1st time was fine but seeing as she is starting to abuse that "childhood friend" was getting way out of hand.

Like Frivolity said, a person's past is very important but for them to start screwing around just because this and that happen to them is a sign for a good wake up call. You got an issue in the past? I respect that. You can't do this and that because of that? That's fine we'll work it out. You try to screw everyone because of that? I can't work with you.

Yozora actually got out easy compared to what happens if you did that in real life with real people. Everyone has their own problem and whether you want to know each person's situation or not (good luck trying to talk to Yozora, Sena), a job needs to be finished.
