FG's a lot goofier than I thought. Going with the middle schoolers, getting angry because of the teacher's remark on her looks...

Though I have to say, she's pretty even in her usual look.

I wondered for awhile...does FG42 have an eye-patch for her right eye because her magazine is placed at her left side?

That could be a reason but as far as I see I think the reason is simply cause she has heterochromia eyes, if theres a reason why she has them type of eyes, I'm not aware of what it is.

that or her right eye is the scope mount (dunno the magnification since the one I used was the default iron sights).

btw gais... who would want the Sten SMG to be a high class lady that usually chats with Ms. Thompson with DAT SEXY BRITISH ACCENT about how they saw combat?

as for the straps, I'm not sure if the FG42 was strapped by the old Fallschrim units as I usually saw them without it and aiming it in the old war footages.

oh and what about Thompson's similar counterparts? the M3 and Reising (did THIS see action?) could probably be somewhere there.

I'm more interested why FG-42 looks more like a rocker or something...

High class lady?

I thought Sten was a really cheap gun, well, maybe the later variant will be a lot of classy.

From the Wikipedia spec entry, flip-up front post and folding rear diopter sight. Most of the time in the Anime, FG42 has the eye-patch on. While we did see her with eye-patch off showing what seems to be a normal right eye.

It's called letting your hair down as school's out, which contrasts with being a strict teacher at school.

Or rather, Fujiko-sensei looks like this at home, but after she's had dinner and a bath and is relaxing; whenever she's at school she's on the job, as befits a strict teacher.

Still, I can't help feeling this ties into something about the weapon she represents... Just that I can't think of how.

Since the anime is entering into original stuff, is there a chance we might meet one or more new girls impersonating newer rifles (The adaptable Bushmaster/Remington ACR or the G36 for example)?

I don't say it's a must, but it would be nice, especially when the ACR is made from adding more features the M16 series don't have.

btw... FG42's default outfit reminds me of the old Fallschrimjager serviceman (uh is it type A if you're not in fatigue and combat gear seeing as her lower cant be distinguished from the officers that had that wide-thingy in the thigh areas or the normal infantryman's lower and boots)

Wasn't expecting this to be a 10-episode series as well. Though the lack of a next episode preview, the ending-type montage at the end and a look at Syoboi proved otherwise. I wasn't originally planning on commenting this week, but if it's the finale, may as well.

This was one of the more educational anime I've seen, and also one of the ones most dedicated to combining characterization and anthropomorphism. The line between the characteristics of the girls as guns and the girls as humans is incredibly blurry, but also well researched. Watching their antics together is pretty fun. Ichiroku and Sig tie for my favorite characters, though that's not to say Eru and Funco don't have their strong points.

Even if it got confusing at times, the link between the girls and their guns, namely anatomy, made for a pretty interesting world. For someone who doesn't know that much about guns, the series still made it accessible and fun that I could coast by on the present schoolgirl tropes, in addition to the military ones. It made for a fun way to spend a Saturday.

Meh, didn't really like how they ended things. A lot of things were left unresolved, namely, the introduction of a new faction who's motives are, for me at least, still a bit confusing. Also, the whole "Humans can't die from our bullets" thing just seems stupid.

Anyone have any idea what the chance of this getting a 2nd season is?
