It is the instant supply of sugar in the bloodstream I was referring to (sorry for the bad writing and fact mixup, my brain is fried after work + school). Glucose cubes have the same effect, in fact they are also used by some girls on diet who don't want the calorie from food - to a rather disastrous effect (seen a girl faint after 3 days on glucose cube diet).

Glucose tabs/cubes are quite nice though; melts in your mouth.
