[Novel] Death Note: Another Novel

The following is taken from Wiki
A novel adaption of the series has been written by Ishin Nishio, called Death Note: Another Note. It serves as a prequel to the manga series, with Mello narrating the story of L's first encounter with Naomi Misora during the Los Angeles "BB Serial Murder Case" mentioned in volume 2 of the manga. Beside Naomi's character, the novel focuses on how L works. Insight was given into Watari's orphanage and how the whole system of geniuses such as L, Mello and Near were put to work.
There is only one rule to follow to post in this thread. Do not mention any group that might be scanlating/translating the novel.

This is one hell of an idea --- and could turn out to be very interesting. Of course i'd give any chance to hear more about L, and this is it.

Shall be looking out for this one.

I read the book and it's pretty good. The book is actually narrated by Mello! I liked it up until the big twist at the end which was frankly ridiculous.

I heard this on wiki awhile back...a novel about how L got in contact with Aiber and Wedy would be pretty cool as well.

Anyway to read this BB Case novel online?

Real Interesting, I have always been curious about L's previous investigations. I wonder what kind of contact L makes with the antagonist of this novel.

One thing they should include in the novel is more about Matt and his backstory. They didn't personify him a lot.

I believe that the kind of story that Death Note is--a suspenseful thriller about someone who has a notebook that kills people secretly and those who want the notebook or want to stop the killings amid moral ambiguity--only lends itself to a sequel of the same type, but the fresh elements of that story have already been used so I doubt a writer would be inclined to go there again. It's not that I hope this is the last we see of the series, and I do sincerely believe that a good sequel could be made. I'm not just not optimistic.

So, sorry, that's just my personal opinion. I could indeed be wrong, like how Michael Crichton chose to write The Lost World. The reason I posted was to find out if anyone knew about that other aspect of the novel, so from now one everyone can feel free to respond to that instead of the unnecessary and superfluous extra comment I made about the possibility of a sequel.

Oh, it's true, BTW. Viz announced it some time ago... I'm sure you could find a reliable source with a Google search.

It was also confirmed that we'll be getting it in February. We're also gettin the 13th volume of the manga (Which is just a 'companion' book to help explain some things.).
